Does apply make sure the phone is still water resistant when the battery is changed? Does third party seal back the water resistant as well?

QUOTE(attw @ Feb 27 2018, 08:06 AM) If you change it at an authorized service centre then I believe they must ensure that your phone's ingress protection remains intact. Of course, if you change the battery at a third party outlet then all bets are off. In that case, why would anyone want to change it in third party outlet? I think the ingress protection is important. It maintain the water protection rating on the phone. |

QUOTE(belfong @ Sep 4 2018, 09:44 AM) I sent my 6Plus to do battery replacement. They said that my battery is fine even though I have around 1400 charge cycle. And if the batter doesn't last whole day, it is likely to be bloated. So, they went ahead and take a look and then came back to confirm that it is bloated. Bloated battery they cannot replace the battery and so, they want to send to Apple for a 1-1 phone replacement for RM$239 (forgot exact amount). They passed the phone back for me to think if I want to do a 1-1 exchange. My phone was fine.. and I worry if I exchanged to a refurb one there will be NEW problems in the future. Sometimes, I feel these guys are just lazy! They rather not spend 3 hours to fix and suggest a replacement ! Personally I trust Apple's refurbish units. Apple have very strict policy even with repairs. That is why their phones are expensive. It is much easier for them to change to a refurbished units and then take their time to refurbish yours and use it for next client. This will make sure they take their time to fix the phones properly. Fixing a phone is not as simple as you think. They have tons of phones to repair everyday. It doesn't help when clients are in a hurry to take back their phone. For the risk of having my phone reset and losing my screen protector and so on, I would rather change the battery myself. It is cheaper anyway. Best for those who can DIY themselves. |
