From quick google, mibox supposedly support netflix hdr, one guy with same issue solved it by changing the hdmi port setting to auto from his previous setting which was gaming mode. Our tv does not have auto setting i guess?  I tried other mode (dynamic etc), still no hdr. I guess my mibox is just crap, or could still be user problem haha..

Anyway u guys know how to set the tv androidtv home as the default screen after switch on?
*
all 4 hdmi's of the tv can handle hdr under any mode - as long as the input is HDR.

u might wanna check the settings in yr mibox.

tv screen... upon power up, it will be last used hdmi input.

no option to set to home UI all the time.

for that, u just have to press the home button on remote.

Hi, proud owners of LC50UA6800X,

I hope someone here can help a fellow new owner of LC50UA6800X.

Bought the TV and very happy with it.
The only problem that I'm facing is that every each time I try to do a Network firmware update (OTA), I kept getting the "cannot connect to network" msg.
And that's why I'm unable to start Netflix.

Current Version
11000_20180515

Latest Version
30800_20181205

Region:
Middle East

I have tried to search for the latest firmware (30800_20181205) over the Sharp Download websites but have failed to find it.

I wonder if someone here might have the firmware (30800_20181205) file so he/she can share the download link.

Thanks.

trying to update with firmware from links is not recommended.

if u fail to do OTA after many attempts, i suggest u contact sharp service center; they will send technician to do for u.

IPv6 can be disabled in your router setting.
Btw,
try wired and wifi connection.

i was facing the same issue as yourself.. Do try to update via LAN and through WIFI not able to update tv software version. If this fails then you would have to contact Sharp cust hotline (1-800-888-678) for further assistance. They would come over with latest update stored in their pen drive. If that fails as well then they would replace the motherboard. smile.gif

The router that I have is provided by the ISP (STC) and the model is HG8245Q.
I'm unable to find any type of configuration which can disable ipv6. sad.gif

Hello peeps,
After I bought my first "4K" smart tv - LG 49UJ630T + HDR, last year my hunger grows for more

Hence I saw a promotion on this very specific model sharp LC60ua6500X, after going through some pages, this specific model's price had really gone down? Why is that

Any problems arise? My current 49 incher couldn't satisfy me now, I want more

I went through the same experience (in fact I used to owned the same LG model and size too), except my LG was giving me problems on audio pass-through.

Consider the 6800x model, it has Android. 6500x won't satisfy you cause LG's WebOS is 1 of the best out there, if not the best. Even I'm using an Android TV, I do miss WebOS from time to time. laugh.gif

I guess the audio problem pass through is that hissing annoying sound? I fixed it by turning it off few seconds and turning it on again.

How was the wow factor moving from 49 to a 60 inch? The quality of of the sharp models are the same?

Because my nvidia shield(for kodi stuffs) is otw, so I might not need the smart tv function biggrin.gif

if u r asking if 6500x is 100% same as 6800x except for the androidtv feature, the answer is not very obvious, at least not when u compare specs.

however, most people incl me who have viewed the 2 tvs side by side will say 6800x PQ is better.

likely due to overall better hardware and firmware used.

so, to get the best out of yr shieldtv, u do need to get a better tv as well as play better source material.

of course, if u r mostly streaming or playing back low grade sources, the tv will not matter much.

Indeed sources plays the most important role here,

Have you used it with blu-Ray 4k players for the tv? How's it like?

If we're talking sources here, because the other day I think I got spoilt already by my friend's oppo bluray 4k player when he brings over to my house, we watched how to train your dragon 2 - never knew there seemed to be details I missed! 4k hdr - even on my crappy LG.

when at that time and now still,
a 4k remux wannabe streaming sources over kodi 😂

Hence the reason I'm surveying new options here, collecting them AV stuffs bit by bit

It was DD+ audio breaking. Changed board a couple times, can't get it fixed.

I ended getting a 65" because Sharp's tv can't decode DD+. Anyway, the stands are too deep for my shelf anyway.

The panel is made in Japan, it should be good. It's VA compared to the rest of them using IPS (or most of them).

full bluray 4k HDR on disc or soft media will be the ultimate, u won't get better.

they come with dtshdma/ddtruehd/ddatmos/dtsx audio to give best experience.

you won't get the same with online streams whether netflix or kodi.

for full 4khdr, u can get oppo or equivalent for disc/soft media or a high performance box for soft media playback.

keep in mind the tv's in discussion is priced rm3-4k.

spend rm8-10k on a tv but using same source(s), the exp is different, needless to say.

I remember some weeks back, someone commented that his netflix 4k doesnt show hdr... am i right?

I think the reason is this... or is it?

Seems there is now 4k non-hdr and 1080p hdr... diff packages.
https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarcher/201...t/#5b395a8495cb

I did try a couple of downloaded 1080p hdr, playback... yes, the hdr signal comes on the tv. Hdr does give wider and deeper color rañge. But might take a while to get used to after years of sdr!
