Senq or senheng online, you can find it for this price🙂

P/s, my bad it was ah1x not al1x
Yup, it comes with android 8.0 out of box. I looked at the 70inch one

However i compare it side by side with 6500 & 6800, with same video source, strangely thou al1x looks better. I guess it uses different processing making the image look better
*
ah1x is a lower model to al1x, like ua6500x to ua6800x.

"looks better" may be due to tv settings.

sometimes the shop guys set one on std mode, the other on dynamic to try to push sales for one model.

to be sure, u need to ask for the remotes and check the settings are the same for both.

Hi guys, just wondering if any of you been having issues with RSS player accessing icdrama link? I haven’t been able to load anything for the past few days, Basically able to see only the menu list but nothing comes up when accessing those sub menus like Tvb, Korean drama, Anime etc. Appreciate if any sifu here can advise. Tq
*
u copied n paste the same in kodi thread.

for people to help, u need to specify what device u use and what app, version, where u got the app.

there are 4 ways to do icdrama:

.. kodi icdrama addon
.. rss icdrama kodi
.. rss icdrama android apk
.. rss icdrama androidtv apk

rss icdrama androidtv v1.0.0 is most suitable for the tv of this thread, it's working fine.

Thank you for pointing out bro. Apologies for not stating earlier. I’m running rss icdrama androidtv v1.0.0 on Sharp LC50UA6800X. I tried uninstalling the app and reinstall it again, able to enter those sub menus under RSS link but unable to play the links. Attached is a sample photo

.. are ALL the links of ALL the shows not working like that?

.. is any app u installed on the TV working?

give this a try: settings, about, restart - this will clear garbage and restart the androidtv.

rss icdrama androidtv app is one of the most reliable apps, has always worked well.

the other 2 on my tv are astrogo and zaltv.

i haven't viewed this new al1x.

bot from the specs given in the website, only these differences which i posted before:

form the specs comparison, they are almost identical except frr al1x has rs232c connection and weighs less.
and i think there are 2 hdmi at the side, 2 at the back whereas ua6800x has all 4 at the back.

and based on ue630x android5->6; ua6800x android7->8, it is possible al1x coming with android8 may get upgraded to android9 if it gets widely accepted.

i already have the 2 older models, won't be getting al1x.

i trust it is just as good if not better - in terms of picture quality and the androidtv.
*
You missed the biggest difference which is 50 al1x has direct backlight vs edge for 50ua6800. It perhaps will contribute to better picture quality. But strangely only the 50 inch has direct backlight in the new al1x series. All the other sizes is still edge backlight.

i missed and i didn't. biggrin.gif

becos u had said it is edge lit for 60"... and i checked.. but didn't check all sizes.

ok, if u r sure it is backlit and makes the diff, it will be the deciding factor for 50".

bought yet?

4TC70AL1X is also direct, so only 4TC60AL1X is Edge.

I’ve got the 50-6800X in Jan 2019 and was checking out the Sony equivalent (X7500F). Price is slightly higher with 55’’ option but was turned off by the fact it was running Android 6 (big difference in terms of interface). I asked if it can run Android 7 was told not at the moment, I asked 2 different Harvey outlets. Same reply. I’m very happy with the 6800, nice display and good stable Android OS and apps.
*correction: check the 55”-x9000f Sony today feb 16 - it’s running Android 7 but the interface looks like sharp‘s
Android 6。Read on internet that Sony has its own interface diff from original OS.

I’ve also got the sharp 4K 630X from 3 years ago which is still working fine. So far Sharp Android tv has been good in terms of their software updates (took efffort to do it constantly), 630X was updated from v4 to v6. Kodi just got updated again this week !

I’m now looking for a 55” or 60”, thinking should I get a Sony instead. I understand Sony has the direct LED compare edge with Sharp. Not sure the difference is that big but content wise 4K content is not widely available, even Netflix 4K content mostly doesn’t look that genuinely 4K for most of them. So I’m not sure if the display difference is that huge.

Software and OS updates is another consideration. Anyone heard reviews about or tried recent Sony Android TVs before ? Are they good in terms of durability and software updates? Would love to know about this. With Sharp Android TV 630x, it even beat the lifespan my Android TV box, which I find so difficult to update apps and OS (can’t update at all). I would also choose an Android TV over those Smart TV with better display any day as the “not so” Smart TV apps are so restricted (can’t install common android apps like KODI and most apps are really of no use). Of course, not forgetting chromecast feature which is so useful on Android TVs only, not on the “not so” smart tv (unsure if I’m 100% right here) . Also IMO, no point having the best display when you are only watching ASTRO HD and have to find ways externally (which may not be legal ! smile.gif ) to look for very good content.

Sharp Msia just launched also the AL1 models replacing the 6800. Can’t see much the difference, notice the new models is much lighter in weight compare to the 6800s though.

good experience description, not very different from my own.
yes, ue630x has been v good for >3years old now, android6 but will not get upgrades anymore.
it is always better to get a device with latest android version rather than older ones.

about android boxes, i wud suggest u pay more and get a better one if buying again.
the better ones are very durable; i hv a couple >7 years old, still working.
and have good user support and get updates for at least 2-3 years.

anyone using soundbar on ua6800x?

im using a sony soundbar, the audio delay is quite noticable via hdmi ARC. There is no problem on lips sync when unplug the soundbar and use the tv speaker itself

Purchased 4TC60AL1X from BigHomexpo last week for RM3250 + 160 cashback using Favepay.

Awaiting delivery in upcoming weeks as they haven't received the stock in their store.

I remember reading from Sharp website that 4TC60AL1X has Edge lit, but the sales man keep on sayings its full lit.

anyway not bothered so much about it. Will update once i got my unit delivered.

pretty good price.

yes, when ready, pls do a review here or start a new thread "AL1X" although it is almost the same as ua6800x.

that will succeed ue630x and ua6800x threads.

Using the website's comparison tool.. Found out the following..

AH1X VS AH8X
Direct-lit vs Edge-lit (This if you ask me is the more critical difference)
AquoMotion: (200Hz) vs ?? (Probably some pseudo motion processing algorithm vs actual HW capabilities...Personally, I completely turn off such or set it on mild settings for more accurate action movements and less fluidy..)
Smart platform: Yes vs No
Public Mode: No vs Yes
Net Weight - without stand (kg): 20.8 vs 25
Net Weight - with stand (kg): 21.5 vs 26.5
Power Consumption: 185w vs 192w

Everything else is the same..

i am not into new TVs but my guess is ah1x is a bit better than ah8x - in terms of design and hardware.

but both are inferior to al1x.

so, i suggest u consider al1x instead unless u must save on small bucks.

or the older ua6800x which is popular as u can see from this thread.

al1x and ua6800x are android8 androidtv based.

some people will tell it such a feature is useless if u have a box already, which i disagree.

tvs built with android tv tyically have better hardware, upscaling and support, besides the ability to run android apps incl astrogo and unifi playtv which many boxes can't do.

and if not mistaken, i think u have been hunting for some time now, settled on hisense or haier??
