0.5 s lag is very serious man
I've never used a soundbar but I don't think the digital to analog conversion caused the lag
since you've tried your sound bar on other tv and maybe you can try using other soundbar on your current tv
*
Notice the 0.5s when i allowed audio out on both TV and soundbar at the same time

Yes, this weekend gonna try with another TV

Based on Sony Technical Bulletin, their recommendation is to connect your input source device (Mibox / PC) --> Soundbar --> TV; for out of sync audio.

There is also a Vertical.S On/Off, which you may want to read about.

I believe the above works flawlessly if the soundbar comes with 2 hdmi input

too bad mine low end, only have 1 hdmi port which is ARC sad.gif

anyway from the image, there is no connection from bluray player to TV, how to transmit the video hmm.gif

Looks like u r trying to install or sideload apps from usb using the tv usb media player.... that wont work.

U need to use a file manager like X plore, findi in playstore.

b4 u go all gungho with sideloading apps, i want to caution u on the risks of some of these apps.

and i mean apps that are not in tv playstore, not in google playstore, found by googling, have dubious origins.

while some versions may be safe, some may be infected with malware.

do exercise caution and not install one that may brick yr tv.

if it does, it i not a few hundred rm like a separate box but a few K rm.

do be very careful, esp if u are new to this.

this particular one u asked about, i have not used and will not want it.

Video will be transmitted via SB -> TV. Change TV to HDMI input which is connected to the SB. You'll see some display from the SB, like menu and such. That's where the video from BR would be broadcast-ed, while sound stays with the SB.

this is the std and correct way to connect a box player via AVR or soundbar, then to tv.

the thing is some people want to do hdmi arc for the sake of not switching on the avr/soundbar if they just want audio from tv.

soundbar is using just one input (from box) and one output to tv.

player passes video+audio to soundbar; soundbar process/output audio while passthru video signals only to tv.

try that connection, forget the hdmi arc for while, see if u get audio lag or not... u shudn't.

Astro go works perfectly... Picture quality not bad...

Only thing is the air mouse a bit hard to control and pull the page up/down, left/right.

Any with experience of putting a wireless mouse to control it? So we can scroll up down easier.

The mini wireless keyboard (with touch pad) is handy in this case. My father can't operate air mouse, but mini keyboard is work for him.

Touch pad use 2 fingers to scroll up/down.

buy the size according to your viewing distance and space.
if too short distance, 60" is not a better choice than 50".
also, what u watch - if mostly HD/4k stuff, 60" might be better if distance is good enough.

extra warranty is like insurance - when nothing happens, it is a waste of money.
when u need it, u wish u had bought it.
so decide according to whether u want to take risk or not.
nobody knows if it will fail after 2 years or last >5 years.

1. What AVFAN says..

2. IMO, recommended. Though as in my case, can end up being a waste. Paid around RM5xx for the living room tv back in 2014.. Next year, the extended warranty expires and the TV still serves excellent as from day one.. Zero issues whatsoever. I even reckon the remote may break before the TV. So in my case, perhaps I should not have bought the extended warranty. However, It gives for ample peace of mind. So if you desire that, make sure to buy from a reputable shop that won't give hassles for claims. Got all our electronics (Samsung throughout) back then from Harvey Norman.
