Hotlink, it's time you put a stop this pay per use charge for data regardless of the package. No data subscription simply means no data required. Statics can cause electronic things to the change setting sometimes.

I get using my home Wifi, and when I'm not using my phone but my balance got deducted...Check E-statement shows during that period data charges for GPRS. why?

Same problem but for iPhone and Samsung for my parents. Even on WiFi at home still have 10 cent charges every hour. At night need too turn off phone totally now. 😑

Mobile already turn off. For Android had use app datally and off every background google service, however charges still occurs. Any other apps that is reliable to check data usage of background data usage, please help to recommend.

i too facing same issue as aboves kena charge many rm0.1 for gprs data since 28 dec 2017, i'm using sony z1 with android 5.1. so, seems this is not a isolated case for iphone user. but what i'm not satisfied is, while i do complain to your hotline123 and your cs keeps telling my it's my phone problem, 1 asked me to stop gprs service for the number, 1 asked me to change my phone or change the plan!!? most of my environment having wifi and i'm very sure i never switch my phone's data on and even none a chance for "accidentally switch on" as i didnot put a shortcut for it. i never changed my internet connection setting since very long ago but something is wrong since 28 dec 2017. kindly please treat this issue seriously unless you are chasing us out from our current plan at this lousy way. My balance account has back to normal no charges problem again, I aslo don't know what the problem this. my balance total all kenal charges is RM3.70 (from 08-12-2017 until 20-12-2017)

Hi All,
1) Do check your phone settings, make sure that your mobile internet & data roaming have been turn off. 2) Go to Settings > Mobile Networks > Preferred Network Type > Select GSM/WCDMA only (Do not choose LTE/4G) As per update from the network team, for certain smart phone (especially iPhone), the application running on the background such as iMessage/ Facetime sync/activation while roaming overseas will caused the RM0.10 GPRS charges. With Hotlink Fast, I can report that there is now no missing credit anymore which is a good thing. HOWEVER, the bad thing with Hotlink Fast which I don't like:- 1. The High Speed Internet with "Free" Happy Hour is actually only free for 1 hour throughout the whole day and not the entire day. I find this to be not useful at all and to me is a gimmick or a trick. They should have added the "Free" 30GGB for the whole month into the main 2GB data. I believe this is a tactic by Hotlink to lure users to subscribe to additional data plan to make more money. 2. what happen the GPRS charge problem is come again, I try check my hotlink e-statement from 28 oct the GPRS charge problem is come to my hotlink acc.

I have exactly the same problem here (on my mum's phone). We switched off mobile data on the phone, and continuosly her account being deducted. Btw, her account is Bagus WM.

I have the same issue started from end of Oct. Everyday less my credit 60-70cents. I downloaded the statement when i found my credit short without using it. I had been closed all my data, including all the apps.but it still charge me. All the charges Using Duration around 20-30 mins. They charge 20cents for 1 seconds usage duration at around 11++pm, and refund 10cents in the next hour.

This afternoon I found out your network deducted all my phone credit for the last 2 months even tho my phone settings have been deactivated from mobile data usage. After a long arguments, your CS finally agree to refund my credit. To stop this “illegal” deductions, your CS gave me 3 options: * buy a new 2G phone, don’t use a smartphone * upgrade my bagus plan to Hotlink Red * lastly, deactivate my phone network GPRS (5days required to reinstate GPRS) The above options are NOT acceptable, your network has an issue and because you are unable to solve this “illegal” deductions. This is the way Hotlink force you to change RED plan..
My hotlink plan number also been charges for this pay per use.. NEVER turn on data before, but still been charged for it... Can't imagine if I got subscribe the data plan, I think haven't 5 minutes never browsing, never streaming already gone 1GB data quota... |

I have reported this GPRS charge to MCMC and demand refund, and the hotlink customer service called me and asked me to upgrade to red plan so that I can get free basic internet. I refused to do so and insist to stay at my campus plan so that I can enjoy RM38 1 year validity. The customer service called me again and refunded me all the money when I insist let MCMC decide what is the outcome.

Seem like after all these years, the situation is not improved a bit.
I am using the latest Hotlink RED plan, and guess what? After the internet pass period expired, I also kena charged from time to time. I put the SIM in a pocket wifi. Yesterday the balance isRM35, today only RM29.8 left (and spoil me the pleasure to purchase a 30day 6GB internet pass).
