Anyone had experience with new core 2 duo processor with this motherboard? e6750, e6550 and e6850?

Mind to share with us?

irangan stated this board is still not compatible with E6850 using newest bios. No sure other. Some other forums can run this board with E6750 ES, but not retail. Still yet to see if P965 can support FSB1333.

like i said previously, it's not the 1333Mhz strap that's the reason. It's compliance to PWM11.1 specifications to allow C2E power management. Sigh, again and again about 1333mhz straps which none of it is true

@atmostthere,

Which means, e6750, e6550 and e6850 are not supported by this motherboard?

Guys, dont worry too much. From what I read from DFI official forum, they are working a new bios for this board that will support 1333fsb proc. But as usual, its will take some time. Hehe...

At least we know that our board will support those new proc soon enough.

Off topic:
As I getting new board tomorrow, anyone want to get my board. Selling at real lelong price smile.gif

bro irangan, have u tried the method that i told u yesterday?maybe it works.

worth give it a try....

as for new 1333FSB,i dont think it's the P965 limit, just the bios cant support.

Gaygaybyte P965 chipset mobo all can run 1333FSB,all u have to do just update the bios of rev 1 mobo and rev 2.0 and rev 3.3 all ready to rock with 1333FSB proc.

so,just wait from biostar and DFi latest bios which can support 1333FSB.

Everyone, this is the method i told irangan and i wanna share it with u all.the method is real and it works with my 1066 proc, why dont just give 1333 proc a try?

bro,u got urself a E6850 right?
well, this method works fine with me.

anyway,i can confirm that P965 chipset supports 1333FSB,just depend on our D.A.R.K. bios.

anyway,i changed my E6600 to QX6700.these 2 processor are 1066FSB.

here come the story.

that day when i got my QX6700,i changed my E6600 from the mobo without reset the bios setting. (my E6600 running 400x9=3600MHz)

Then when i install the Qx6700,the proc boot up with the setting of 400x9,without reset the bios and i was shocked, thought that changing proc's stepping will cause the mobo to reset the bios.but it was not.

so base on my eperience,it worth a try with all of u here.

E6850 using 9x multiplioer which is same as E6600 9x multiplier.

so bro, hjust get urself a E6600,then set the multiplier to 9x and adjust the FSB to 1333FSB which is 333.3 in bios, after that, save the setting and boot into windows and reconfirm with CPU-Z then shut it down.

then now replace with ur E6850 and boot it, (the setting should be 333.3x9) it should be bootable cause changing different processor and different stepping will not reset the bios (from my experience la),if it bootable, then viola!!!

it wastes a bit of ur times but it saves u from changing mobo,so why dont just give a try? icon_rolleyes.gif

hope that my method can help u all.

Hmm, but only if you have an extra proc that is. What you need to take note is that not all proc will have the same overclockability. So pumping enough vcore is needed as well.

ya,just put to the stock speed,333.3x9,and put 1.4vcore should be more than enough to let every proc to boot at 3.0GHz
