i'm thinking of switching back to pixel from ip8+ once all common issues are sorted out.
i think in terms of camera, pixel is still the best.
the main reason i bought iphone this year after so many years using nexus/pixel because for once i feel like ip8 is a better value phone than pixel.

If you're rooted I would suggest using greenify sleep+hibernate key binning to your home screen icons.

I binned it to swipe up action to my WhatsApp icon to sleep the phone. It kinda prolongs your physical button lifespan by using this.

Neh, not planning to root the devices anytime soon...Just want an apps that can cater for such function.....

Greenify does work without root but it will take like 3-4sec to really screen off due to process queue at system backed. It is a system limitation. Can't confirm this but I think it will also require u to key in passcode as it uses Android Administrator lock feature If using it without root. Same goes to other apps if you don't have previllage.

Bro, ive just tried Fingerprint Quick Action app to trigger screen off using single tap by binning to launch shortcut of Greeny Sleep+Hibernate. Saw theres a non root method there as well. You might want to give it a try to see which works best for your use case.

Try it, it is a nice app but the problem is that the when the app is close only work one time when i tried the second time, it wont work anymore unless leave the app open, then i can replicate the lock screen every single print scan
