Tried sideloading official OTA package?

Ya that should be the Nov security update OTA which brings Boosted and Saturated screen mode.

Btw in 8.1 DP2 they introduced SRGB settings again in Dev settings.

Why not slap a dbrand sticker on your black Pixel 2 (XL model?) to make it look like the white/black panda colourway for less than 12USD?

p2xl is nice if screen issue ignored. smoothness is on another level, even camera win against ipx.

If similar price better get panda, and slap dbrand skin
Coz on my pixel xl black, even though I had white skin on it, everytime I look at the black fingerprint scanner, still wish I had silver or blue

Guys my Pixel 2 XL vibrates each time I snap a picture is that normal ?
I also have lines running from left to right ( sometimes like noise) when the camera is on. It happens about 3-5 seconds then it goes away.

light running i think is normal...because the screen is doing some refresh rate, I think it is normal for every phone just that pixel ones more noticeable, i did test with S8 before and it had the same issue . Vibrate will take picture didn't happen on mine....

Guys, Im not very well verse with this Pixel related matters. Just wish to clarify, from the list of seller listed above, all their unit are from the US or other europe nations ? Will there be any difference if we buy outside from the US. Kindly advice

And from the list of seller above, any suggestion on who can provide the best after sales experience ? Planning to get 1 Pixel 2 and 1 Pixel 2 XL

No, both issues you have described are not normal.

As for the vibration that happens when you press the camera shutter button, can you try disabling your shutter sound off and try again? The Pixel 2 XL dual front stereo speakers occasionally "rumbles" at high volumes which can probably attribute why your phone "vibrates" when the shutter plays the "bloop" sound.

If that doesn't work, try factory resetting your phone.

If that still doesn't work, i'd suggest you to send it in for a RMA.

As for after sales service, Shirogawa will honor the 2 year Google warranty. Not sure about Techbug.

As for T&L, they only honor 1 year warranty.

In short, all 3 sellers above provide good after sales service based on the customer feedback. I suggest you do adequate research first before committing.

I got my Pixel 2 from T&L and I think mine is from Canada.

So, how do you guys make a complete switch from Samsung phone to Pixel.

I know Photos, Contacts all will be sync once you login Google.How about Chat Log of whatsapp,wechat and kakaotalk. I need some of these to be transferred as well.

Any apps to do that?

For whatsapp you could do local backup inside whatsapp then copy over /Whatsapp folder to your pixel in /SDCARD path. Then once u install, it will prompt you to do local restore. Well this is offline method, u can also do google drive but it takes more time for it to backup and restore.

For wechat, i believe there is a cloud backup feature that u can utilize for u to restore on new pixel.

Whatsapp, you can use cloud backup. I usually format my phone 2-3 times per year to clean up, after phone freshly setup, just login whatsapp and it will restore itself. I'm not sure if you need to manually trigger cloud backup or not ( I am beta program participant ), just login whatsapp back and it it will trigger restore option.

How about for iphone user to migrate to pixel? Can cloud backup whatsapp and restore?

WhatsApp
Go to settings --> chat --> backup, you will see google drive on top, its better to turn on daily backup. So whenever you want to change phone, make sure you log in to your google drive and insert SIM first, then download WhatsApp and follow the steps, your backup should be detected.

Wechat
Same go to settings..you can either backup to wechat windows/mac application, or backup from your phone (QR code will be given). Then you log in to your wechat account on your new phone, right top corner there is an option for you to scan QR code, thats all.

Kakaotalk
same thing go setting --> chat --> chat backup, a pin will be needed which is for authentication purposes when you restore from your new phone. Then just log in from your new phone, and you should see a message that prompts you to restore or not
