if got friends in US, do you think it's worth it to ask him to buy and send back to M'sia? Coz i check shipping + other fees...almost like 300-400++ using those courier services...fedex, ups etc.....
or got other cheaper alternatives?

buying from local seller most likely the cheapest option.
i think one seller sell pixel 2 for RM3199 which you might pay more than that if you buy on your own and ship to malaysia.

Hello, I just receive my pixel 2 today. I choose pixel 2 instead of XL due to XL screen problem however it get worse when not only my pixel 2 got blue tint, the screen is yellowish and also there was unusual bright black instead of dark black on 3/4 of my screen. Anyone facing this issue?

More details for bright black issue https://imgur.com/a/KJb5q

most likely your wallpaper is not pure black colour on the upper part.
you should use pure black wallpaper to test.

For those unsure about whether the smaller 5 inch Pixel 2's 2700 mAh battery can stand up against it's bigger 6 inch Pixel 2 XL's 3,520 mAh battery, it's battery life is excellent.

It can last me easily 1.5 days - 2 days on light to medium usage with the following settings (again, this will vary from user to user):

- 2 x Gmail accounts in sync
- 30% brightness setting (adaptive brightness off)
- Bluetooth & NFC set to off
- Silent mode on
- Location set on
- Mixed LTE (60%)/Wi-Fi(40%) daily usage
- Pitch black AMOLED wallpaper set to both lock and home screen

Take a look at the attached screenshots below.

i'm thinking of switching back to pixel from ip8+ once all common issues are sorted out.
i think in terms of camera, pixel is still the best.
the main reason i bought iphone this year after so many years using nexus/pixel because for once i feel like ip8 is a better value phone than pixel.

i thought of changing to pixel 2 from ip8+ but it seems if trade in telco set, seller will only take very low price because if the owner default payment, telco will block the phone.

need to find buyer that trust me first. biggrin.gif

what i like about 8+
- any update will come instantly for all iphone, whereas for pixel, you have to wait awhile.
- very good battery life, with moderate use can last more than 1 day, when i go back home everyday, on average i still have 60% of battery life.
- garageband & imovie apps, i guess no alternative apps as good as those available for android right?
- no matter how long i use it, i never notice the phone getting warm
- airdrop, i have macbook so transferring file to macbook is seamless experience

what i don't like about 8+
- notification is bad
- share content with apps is bad compared to android
- camera is not as good as pixel
- i use google assistant extensively, siri is bad, hardly use it and no always listening option in iphone for assistant.
- some apps are better in android

Here's my take on comparing the Pixel 2 XL & Pixel 2 now that i have both in hand.

- Pixel 2 is more ergonomically friendly being held/used in one hand and placing into your pockets compared to the Pixel 2 XL which requires you to do finger acrobatics

- Pixel 2 (2,700 mAh battery) charges much faster than the Pixel 2 XL (3520 mAh battery) easily making it a better choice when wanting to do a quick charge for 15mins when it is low on battery

- Pixel 2 and Pixel XL's battery life are almost the same with one another during my daily use. Both phones are able to squeeze out 8.5 hours of SOT over 1.5 day's usage. In my opinion, the Pixel 2's battery life is truly amazing for its size

- Pixel 2 XL's 6 inch 18:9 aspect ratio screen is a great a screen despite its overblown media/PR P-OLED flaws. However, not all native Android apps support this aspect ratio resulting in black letter boxes appearing at the sides. The Pixel 2's standard 16:9 aspect ratio guarantees full screen coverage/immersiveness

In summary, the Pixel 2 (5 inch) is a highly underrated device and its price-performance ratio heavily rivals the Pixel 2 XL.

At the end of my testing, i've decided that i will keep the Pixel 2 XL as i love large screens at the expense of slightly decreased battery life.
