Ya.. clearly they upgrade the 'card' inside the cabinet from ADSL to VDSL thus you can subscribe for Unifi Lite 10Mbps.

In the future we don't know maybe they will launch another package targeted to SUBB utilising the existing copper line.

I was told by TM technician, it's limited for those line distance from cabinet to their home around 2KM.

If the distance more than that, it falls back to streamyx 8mbps  rolleyes.gif

Well, even it's still in the early stage of implementation, you should be grateful because at least something progressed at your area.

You might soon enjoyed the upload speed of 5Mbps, which will give huge different from 512Kbps upload of streamyx.

Mine? They told me to wait for next year project ONLY if project approved and have funds to proceed which I doubt too.

There's still no sign of FDC will be installed in near future for my area

[attachmentid=10029731]

Some more, for MSAN either. They upgraded 90% of the cabinet and it's all complete (ASB), including the rural cabinet here thus they would able to subscribe for Unifi Lite, and they skipped 4 cabinet at the middle of town and one of them situated at my housing area.

8mbps really are doomed. I think waiting for unifi is the only way upgrade for us. Paying rm160 is just overkill from TM. And there no ETA for unifi arrival.

Normally they take some weeks to update their system, bro.

E.g. my taman’s unifi finished all the works early March,
But the testing and system update dragged all the way until mid May to finally be able to register and visible in the system.

2.5mths.

I am staying in kampung house, but few poles away there are SUBB serving houses at mainroad side and HSBB at the taman area. By looking at the cables I don't think TM will pull new fibre cables to any secondary road where I am staying now. I am suspect the upgrade is more to provide capacity for those SUBB and HSBB as I can see the agents started to hang the bunting the 100mbps promotion. Last time it was 30mbps only.

Your area doesn't have unifi coverage? I saw your address in Petaling Jaya which should be Unifi area. Or maybe port full

My area have unifi and maxis. By that time i need the cheapest cost, because my house already have telephone line but long time not activated because old owner terminate telephone line. Old owner doesn't applied any internet line, only telephone line that using tm. So, that time i only need new line installed for streamyx. For unifi and maxis had expensive price and will be too costing for me to install during that era. TM technical just installed new wire from outside only but i was charged only RM70. By the way, I was charged that price because problematic to install new wire at back of my house, a bit danger for him to install its. Because the neighbours nearby around my house had already block that tiang TM, the awning and their roof. So, a tiny a thin man only can enter that tiang. I also helped him during that installation, otherwise he will not installed it. If want to install a fiber from outside they need to take another tiang that longer way, i had apply its two times for unifi lite 2 days before, first team already look, want to install first tiang that had blocked by the neighbours but afraid if anything accident happen to them. Yup, too dangerous, they can install it but they need proof of pictures that already installed from outside to give to management. This one of procedure for them to make commission, if the installation approve by management then they will get if not approve then this technical team will got negative rating and they don't get anything. For second technical team after second tried, this team need to install by using another tiang that longer way. They explain to me, if want to proceed they will charged RM170 for installation, they mention the fiber easily broken if not proper way installation so, if anything happen just called their office to get done if fiber wire broken again. So, i cancel it, just use this streamyx. By the way, the first technical team that installed my streamyx quite friendly and much helped. I ask anything about the unifi, he explain to me more details. Too bad, during that time i'm out of budget to apply a fiber plan..

Here is your answer on streamyx

https://www.bharian.com.my/bisnes/korporat/...anggan-streamyx
TM komited tangani isu pelanggan Streamyx

8mbps in non unifi area already reached the edge? I wonder what kind of patience needed from most of the 8ers here still paying the full rm160+ a month.

No price drop and fiber coverage expansion mentioned in the article. Clearly they wish to maintain the ARPU for streamyx user because they know, most of their revenue came from streamyx, which overcharged so much especially those who stuck with 1Mbps that paid RM110 for it!
