Guys, finally I got my 8mbps but the speed isn't that much stable. I can get 8mbps on speedtest but sometimes, it's like 2mbps only. Which IP gives you a much stabler speed?
*
been having shitty connection for the past few weeks..
wanna do speedtest also hv to refresh the page 3-4 times first.. jilaka..

Check ur IPv6, does it enabled?
*
heck, IPv6 enabled.

now i've disabled it and monitoring.
my problem lies in Android TV YouTube, lately always stuttering
and inconsistent performance.

Kodi, too - but because it's not exactly legal, i don't mind so much.

modem stats:

PC : Win10 x64, i7 3.40GHz, 16GB RAM

Browser : Chrome 64bit

somehow after disabling IPv6, youtube streaming seems stable..

will monitor for a few more days.

TM just installed Unifi Cable 2 weeks ago.
Unifi reseller just setup their booth last weekend in my taman.

Tentative activation by March - reseller say lah.
True or not, time will tell.

I've requested TM to reduce my monthly, according to them no such thing exist. They asked me to check on TM website if 8mbps price is other than rm160.
*
go to TM Point. downgrade your HyppTV package. -RM20.

I am no longer use hypptv, never watch them even with their 17 free view channels.
*
not watching is totally different than not paying.

at least that's what i learned - the hard way.

i found out that i've been paying for hypptv, although i'm not using it.

heck, i didn't even gotten the hypptv STB during my years with streamyx.

after doing my own research in this forum, i found out that i'm paying unnecessary stuff.

my old streamyx registration was called Streamyx 8.0M Blockbuster Combo HyppTV Bundle RM160.

after i found out that i'm 'donating' unnecessarily to TM, i went to TM Point & asked them
if i can cancel my hypptv subscription and get RM20 discount.

the staff checked, and said well yes - i was already out of contract and they give me -RM20 discount
every month afterwards till i upgraded to unifi.

RM160 - RM20 = RM140.

I see, will look into it soonest, do we need to return the STB as well?
*
just be prepared to return, but i think they just downgrade the subscription which means that you can still view some channels.

as for me, the funny thing is - i went to TM Point (UTC one) to get the discount,
and since I did not even take my STB in the 1st place, i was given a new one at that time.

it's still unused now. laugh.gif laugh.gif

https://www.lowyat.net/2018/166531/streamyx...ps-rm100-8mbps/

try clarifying that news with TM first also la. instead of -RM20, why not go all the way to RM100. thumbsup.gif

I saw TM ppl and their team is doing some maintenance at the TM cabinet in my area. Stop by and asked them, they told me that streamyx in the mid of upgrading and the new download shall be from 10mbps up to 20mbps or even 30mbps depending on the quality of the lines. They however didn't mention the upload speed nor the new plans for streamyx as it will be subjected to hq decision. They showed me the new cards that to be upgrade replacing the old one.[attachmentid=10029458][attachmentid=10029483]

sounds like SUBB/VDSL Unifi plan then..

Most probably up to VDSL I guess, as the over head cable connected to my house is still on copper unless they pulled the fiber up to my pole db box.
*
i'd say that is good enough.

it's just that TM never promote the SUBB/VDSL option, thus the price options are rarely seen.

oh shiet.... though I've seen the upgrade carried out at the dslam cabinet last few days ago, my house however is not in their list of upgrade.
*
Normally they take some weeks to update their system, bro.

E.g. my taman’s unifi finished all the works early March,
But the testing and system update dragged all the way until mid May to finally be able to register and visible in the system.

2.5mths.

I am getting this from streamyx eligibility checker, it is coming but don't know when.
*
standard TM bait..

like saying 'you're getting Turbo-ed!!

..but don't know yet when, probably by June next year.

but only if our infra allows it.

and if you pay your bills on time.

laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

but if you can be patient, just wait for a while since even without Unifi FTTH,
they're upgrading some Streamyx exchange cabinets which could provide VDSL2 with 10,30,30Mbps (some claim 50-100)

Try check for my mum house..
So unifi will be at my mother house or it just a gimmick?
*
Unifi Lite can be SUBB (i.e. they use your existing copper phone line)
but with limited speed, i.e. 10-30 (sometimes 50-100) depending on copper cable quality
and also TM exchange cabinet network cards.

save that picture and follow-up with TM if nothing changes by 15th of December 2018.

with the direction that TM is going, i think they're concentrating on VDSL2/SUBB improvements now for Streamyx users,
i.e. less Fibre coverage to ensure that Streamyx users will not complain so much.

what do you intend to use fast internet for/how much are you targeting? 500Mbps?
