still at rm160... sad.gif
*
Go to tm point and ask for discount. I managed to get the rm20 discount + free aneka pack for my 8mbps. Rm20 discount for a lifetime but free aneka pack for 1 year only (but who care, My stb are staying safely in their orange box for 4 years now). Currently i’m paying rm148.50 something after gst. Still expensive than unifi lite SUBB but I’ve got no choice and perhaps I should be grateful at least I got 8mbps, those who stuck with rm110 1mbps much more ‘kesian’ than me. According to Tm SUBB are expected to be implement at my area sometime in 2019-2020. sad.gif

haha I been jumping 1mbps 2mbps 4mbps 4 the past 15 years  puke.gif no chance with 8mbps sadly but eventually hit the elite of all elite status 50mbps drool.gif I think that's it as I wont be jumping 100mbps 4 the next 15 years blush.gif  blush.gif
*
I'm much more unfortunate, SUBB (Sub Urban Broadband) only allowed me to jump up to 10Mbps (for the time being) only but with HUGE IMPROVEMENT in terms of upload Speed at 5Mbps compared to my current 512Kbps upload. It'll be good enough to receive that kind of upload speed. 20Mbps, 30Mbps, 50Mbps, 100Mbps and future 200-300Mbps doesn't exist in my area 'dictionary' yawn.gif

how do we confirm that our area is under SUBB? currently my 8mb package still having upload speed of 512kbps. to get 10mb download and 5mb upload will be a good improvement for my house.
*
Look around the huge TM cabinet labelled as VB 5xxxx or VC 5xxxx then your area should falls under SUBB. Alternatively, you may check the unifi lite coverage via unifi.com.my

hmm. if i have unifi coverage, might as well get unifi lite? or this is a temporary solution to upgrade your connection due to port limitation (full)?
*
Well, unifi and unifi lite are exactly the same product. If your area falls under hsbb/hsbb2 (fiber to the home) then you shoule be able to subscribe unifi lite in addition to unifi advance (30/50) and pro (100). It’s all depends on your pocket and usage. If you think 10mbps down and 5mbps up should be enough for your usage and you simply don’t bother with all those hypptv etc etc, then unifi lite should be fine. It might be true as well those who are under ftth to reserve and test the connection first by taking cheaper unifi lite instead of going straightly to advance and pro.

same, looking at my downstream already 10Mbps. Maybe can support?

1) Call 100 (failed)
2) TMpoint (didn't go yet)
3) Live Coverage (Unifi Lite package listed alongside all streamyx)
*
Yes... if Unifi Lite 10Mbps are listed out alongside streamyx package, obviously your area can support. You may proceed to subscribe to it.

I am currently on streamyx 8gb for RM160. Now there is streamyx 8gb for RM140. How do I change to this new plan? Do I have to go to TM office to terminate my current plan and start the new plan? Do I get the freebies (free modem, HyppTV, etc) advertised for this new plans. My current contract has ended many years ago.
*
Go to the nearest tmpoint and ask for special discount of RM20 for streamyx 8mbps. Give them your IC and thumbprint, and on your next bill you'll only need to pay RM140 (excluded GST). No renewal of contract though.

Meanwhile, unifi users are getting much more than us. What the stupid bloody hell TM! vmad.gif

QUOTE(sharp56 @ Nov 19 2017, 10:48 PM)
Thanks guys for your help. I would definitely subscribe to Unifi but unfortunately my place don't have Unifi.

If I terminate and subscribed to a new streamyx 8mbps plan @ RM140 do I get the freebies modem, HyppTV and ID Wifi? Note: under the old contract I got these freebies already 3-4 years ago. This is better than asking for a special discount of RM20 and continue the old contract, as there will be no freebies, right?

Would appreciate your advice again for the best option.
*
Yes, you’ll get the new equipment as well. But as for me, that’s not worth at all to extend the contract just to get the new so called rubbish freebies. Remember, you also need to pay rm140+rm140+rm88+rm10 on your first bill and not to mention, rm35-50 installation costs to contractor and 2 years contract. Streamyx user got nothing from tm. They treated streamyx like their stepson and you still want to extend another 2 years contract with them? Think deeply first bro. Another thing, cooling period of 1 month if you still insist to use your name to register the new line. sad.gif

my friend say streamyx 8mbps user can get 20mbps. TM will use vdsl technology. at cabinet tm will tagged as VC. waiting
*
Depends on location, demand and distance from that VC cabinet as well. Even you’re currently using 8mbps now, it doesn’t guarantee that you will definitely able to subscribe for unifi lite 10mbps. Mine is worst, 90% of the cabinet at my area already tagged as VC, but my cabinet still same as before. Reason: wait for 2019 project.

How you know the cabinet is tagged as VC? Got any marking to look for?
*
Yes, the marking is obvious. Every tm roadside cabinet must have marking to identify it.

Thanks for the info, gonna check it. Hopefully it's already have VC and just TM office and agent that still not updated.
*
Is some part of your area got fiber optic unifi already?
If that so, your area falls under hsbb project. So, there’s no VC cabinet will be installed there. VC cabinet is for subb area only which still use the existing copper infra. You should receive ftth unifi in the future if not for the meantime. sad.gif

Most of the streamyx users in non+unifi coverage, getting 2x speed is dreaming aja lah, leave alone price reduction. What speed we have now, what price we pay now, it will be that forever.
*
Yes, I need to rent the house near my workplace just for the sake of Unifi. Before this I just going back and forth from my workplace to my parents house. To tell the truth from my father friend who worked in TMPoint, TM in the midst of crisis right now after GE-14. They got lack of funds to further the HSBB2 and SUBB project expansion. So, expect things to be relieve back maybe in 2020. rolleyes.gif
My patient has reached the limit. If I'm staying at my parents house forever, I'll get nothing. That's why I need to move out and rent the house where there are coverage available. rclxub.gif

I saw TM ppl and their team is doing some maintenance at the TM cabinet in my area. Stop by and asked them, they told me that streamyx in the mid of upgrading and the new download shall be from 10mbps up to 20mbps or even 30mbps depending on the quality of the lines. They however didn't mention the upload speed nor the new plans for streamyx as it will be subjected to hq decision. They showed me the new cards that to be upgrade replacing the old one.[attachmentid=10029458][attachmentid=10029483]
*
Congratulations! At least they're doing something to upgrade the speed at your area. Meanwhile, still no sign of cabinet upgrade for SUBB project extension at my area sad.gif

still too early to pop up the balloons bro. The guys did mentioned that not all numbers to enjoy the upgrade. Few testing phases to be carry out, once completed on the site test, the results to be send to the hq, they will finalised of the eligibility of which. Hope mine is fit to enjoy the upgrade. This will come to weeks and months to implement. In a meanwhile, I am still on current speed until they send the email just like the turbo promotion.
*
Ya.. clearly they upgrade the 'card' inside the cabinet from ADSL to VDSL thus you can subscribe for Unifi Lite 10Mbps.

In the future we don't know maybe they will launch another package targeted to SUBB utilising the existing copper line.

I was told by TM technician, it's limited for those line distance from cabinet to their home around 2KM.

If the distance more than that, it falls back to streamyx 8mbps rolleyes.gif

Well, even it's still in the early stage of implementation, you should be grateful because at least something progressed at your area.

You might soon enjoyed the upload speed of 5Mbps, which will give huge different from 512Kbps upload of streamyx.

Mine? They told me to wait for next year project ONLY if project approved and have funds to proceed which I doubt too.

There's still no sign of FDC will be installed in near future for my area

Attached Image

Some more, for MSAN either. They upgraded 90% of the cabinet and it's all complete (ASB), including the rural cabinet here thus they would able to subscribe for Unifi Lite, and they skipped 4 cabinet at the middle of town and one of them situated at my housing area.

Then i stayed, if no news until end of october, then bye2 tm  mad.gif ..right  now, my main purpose to reduce the cost, i don't mind the speed because i'm a regular user.. 8 - 10Mbps is okay for me..i heard there an upgrading for copper and big box at residents place..

Your area doesn't have unifi coverage? I saw your address in Petaling Jaya which should be Unifi area. Or maybe port full
