Go to tm point and ask for discount. I managed to get the rm20 discount + free aneka pack for my 8mbps. Rm20 discount for a lifetime but free aneka pack for 1 year only (but who care, My stb are staying safely in their orange box for 4 years now). Currently i’m paying rm148.50 something after gst. Still expensive than unifi lite SUBB but I’ve got no choice and perhaps I should be grateful at least I got 8mbps, those who stuck with rm110 1mbps much more ‘kesian’ than me. According to Tm SUBB are expected to be implement at my area sometime in 2019-2020. sad.gif

True. This is totally ridiculous to charge RM160 for merely 8Mbps with outdated ADSL technology internet.

I am not sure about rural area. Maybe they feel grateful for that. Speaking of city/town in Malaysia, we really deserve better price and good quality internet network.

I asked for upgrade from my current 4Mbps to 8Mbps but need to pay RM160 per month whereas many agents outside still offering RM140 per month for subscribing as a new 8Mbps user. This is nonsense and ridiculous. They never care to listen to feedback.

They never extend or setup new UNIFI coverage for many areas in big city. Yet they offer attractive price for multiple times of better connection speed at almost the same price for Streamyx. We as the existing Streamyx customers with no choice to go better at all. Ask for 8Mbps yet still need to top up extra of RM20 per month. Charging us so high with low connection speed. It's like fooling us.

TM monopolizes almost the whole home broadband market in Malaysia and i really pray so hard for our current new government to actually press them to offer better package to the people.

I am staying at the rural area, my request to get the cheaper monthly fee had been rejected. I am not very sure as some is getting rm140 and the rest is still like myself. Few poles from my place already enjoying SUBB, again my request to get the unifi lite rm129 rejected as well. They said not enough applicants, but at taman nearby TM just upgrade the infra even without enough request. As long I am in kampung house and not in taman, streamyx at higher price to stay. I am pissed the TM people insisted me to get unifi mobile instead, last time webe.

RM89, as seems some users can get this.

Mine just reduced to RM140 from RM160 for 8mbps.
*
I've requested TM to reduce my monthly, according to them no such thing exist. They asked me to check on TM website if 8mbps price is other than rm160.

A** Hole TM.. No Unifi port or no unifi coverage still cannot free upgrade.. vmad.gif

Most of the streamyx users in non+unifi coverage, getting 2x speed is dreaming aja lah, leave alone price reduction. What speed we have now, what price we pay now, it will be that forever.

SUBB is something I feel not really achieved, as far as I see in my place, only houses by the main roadside are covered but not even extend to any secondary road even they are connected to, not even a pole. SUBB is actually a RSBB, the road side broadband.

16mbps is an assuming 2x speed upgrade for the 8mbps streamyx users. There were article related to the statement by TM tops recently.

not watching is totally different than not paying.

at least that's what i learned - the hard way.

i found out that i've been paying for hypptv, although i'm not using it.

heck, i didn't even gotten the hypptv STB during my years with streamyx.

after doing my own research in this forum, i found out that i'm paying unnecessary stuff.

my old streamyx registration was called Streamyx 8.0M Blockbuster Combo HyppTV Bundle RM160.

after i found out that i'm 'donating' unnecessarily to TM, i went to TM Point & asked them
if i can cancel my hypptv subscription and get RM20 discount.

the staff checked, and said well yes - i was already out of contract and they give me -RM20 discount
every month afterwards till i upgraded to unifi.

RM160 - RM20 = RM140.
*
I see, will look into it soonest, do we need to return the STB as well?

That one should called "Unifi" already, but not Streamyx.. Am I right?
*
Here's on of the statement, this article came from LYN and there are another from Malaysian Wireless as well from kacang soya.
https://www.lowyat.net/2018/166010/streamyx-unifi-upgrades/
They called streamyx as pre-unifi, but in TM's website no pre-unifi except as broadband.
I got a feel that most of streamyx users that is look eligible, they will be offered wireless broadband instead of the fixed line. The same store goes to those applying for Unifi Basic unless all these area covered by unifi network.

The new pricing for streamyx 8mbps is rm100, but only for new registration. Limited time promotion. TM mmg betul2 mainkan pengguna streamyx.
