New Petronas fuel boosted extra 18hp, no wonder Hamilton capable of sprinting to Max's tail so easily...

Engine power has always been Mercedes upper hand but it's the tires that dictate how fast you're going.

Arrow SPM is just a midfield team but hopefully can challenge the big 3 (Andretti, Ganassi, Penske).

Indy is like Australian Supercars, very minimal variation between cars and engines so much more chance for any teams to win or at least be competitive.

I miss days of semi-auto gearboxes. Amazing to see drivers using gear knobs rather than pressing buttons.

Good Riddance Gasly...

t's the bombshell of the summer: Red Bull have taken the shock decision to drop Pierre Gasly and replace him with their Toro Rosso driver Alex Albon. It follows a tough season for Gasly alongside Max Verstappen – and a stellar one for rookie Albon partnering Daniil Kvyat. Gasly will return to Toro Rosso for the remainder of the year.

Albon, in his first season of F1 after finishing runner-up in last year’s FIA Formula 2 championship, has impressed all in the paddock with his speed and maturity. The British-born Thai driver has scored 16 points from his 12 Grands Prix to date, with a best result of sixth in the rain-affected German round - his first ever wet F1 race.

Gasly, by contrast, has spent 2019 struggling to keep pace with Verstappen. Having himself been promoted from Toro Rosso at the end of last season, he has been living firmly in the Dutchman’s shadow, scoring just 63 points to his team mate’s 181. The Frenchman has yet to appear on the podium in a car that has taken Verstappen to two race wins and three further top-three finishes, and has been outqualified by his team mate in every race so far.

More to follow.

Not shocking at all actually. Every one has predicted PG will not see out the season, just a matter of either AA or DK replacing him. I guess RB chooses AA coz he's new and they want to see how he does in a top team coz they already kinda know how DK was.

Ahh, the unenviable honour of being MV’s teammate. Lol. AA would have to do well to stick close to MV in races. If he manages to finish ahead of any of the Ferraris in some of the remaining races it’s a decent achievement because PG hardly did it

Only a handful of people know this but Albon was supposed to race in Formula E before Toro Rosso approached him (& bailed him out).

Surprised that they chose AA over DK. As for PG, he is lucky to keep a seat in F1.

Supercars has been a bit boring this season because Scotty is dominating.

Indy should be closer championship but I am not following much yet.

As long as he can finish ahead of mclaren, occasionally ahead of ferrari and don't get lapped by MV, he'll be fine.

I think RB is preparing for next year line up. They already knew how good/bad DK was in RB.

Coincidentally penske dominating both series (also leading in nascar & imsa sportscar).

Indycar championship is closer mostly because of points system (50 points for winner, you even got points for starting a race).
