it is interesting to see how Liberty Media going to keep Ferrari happy. Sure, F1 can still exist without Ferrari, but it will not be the same. Imo, people watched F1 to see Ferrari win (ferrari fan), or to see other team beat them (the rest...haha).

Would be fantastic if suddenly TR can challenge for podiums this year with Honda!  laugh.gif

Ugly dick noses and now also ugly cockpit.  sweat.gif  Those with black colored halo seems slightly better though as it doesn't look as obvious.
*
Yeah... Then can see alonso face if that happens. Haha

I don't quite mind the nose nowadays... And i actually like the halo, made the car looks aggressive. Kinda like a rollcage something.

F1 should allow teams to run special colour/livery for their home race. Would look great especially the RB camo.

Still prefer the conventional nose like Mercedes have and don’t like the other teams’ new noses. Having said that, at least they’re nowhere near the atrocious 2014 F1 cars. Those are the real “ugly dicks”. Lol
*
QUOTE(6UE5T @ Feb 27 2018, 02:32 PM)
Yeah last year only Merc & TR cars looked good coz they use more conventional nose design. Now TR also already using the 'dick' style nose so only merc still looks ok. Some more now got the weird halo, sigh...
*
Mercedes engine is so good, that they can compromised in other things and able to use conventional nose design.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Feb 27 2018, 03:41 PM)
Hahaha well it will be amusing to see if really TR can beat McLaren but honestly for the good of the whole F1 we need the best drivers to be at the sharp end fighting for wins and podiums. Therefore I do really want McLaren to be back to winning ways to enable Alonso to properly fight with Ham & Seb coz those 3 are the true best ahead of the rest. Having Alonso struggling in the last few years is painful to see (even though I'm not a true fan of him) and doesn't do any good whatsoever for F1 IMHO, so if again they got beaten up badly again even by TR then it's F1 loss. So it will be good of TR can be more competitive but I still want McLaren to be back challenging Merc/Ferrari/RB and winning some races.
*
I think the problem with him is that he is not very good at motivating teams...vettel done better job at motivating ferrari than him imo.

Actually Mercs chassis is also equally good or at least very close to the best (which ever chassis that is). People just think about the engine coz it seems the most stand out and underestimate their chassis side but the Mercs is not too shabby either in most tracks that requires handling, especially mid-high speed sweepers. So if Mercs can do with a better looking nose design than why the others cannot? I think maybe Mercs even knows something different that the other teams might not quite get yet, hence they still maintain their different nose design than the rest.
*
Its all about compromised....from designer pov, looks it not important. All team use the ugly design, so it maybe the best compromise. Just that merc got more advantage in other aspect that they can opted not to use that ugly nose.

Ferrari the team to beat this year. Mercedes the conservative design will lose the championship.
*
Good if that happens

Whoaa so confident leh! I will wait until at least the first race or maybe even more before making any predictions.

Optimism is good. At least can get excited over the races. Haha

I actually felt honda engine is not that bad. It performed nicely on dyno, just that when it bolted to the chassis, all problems came out. Might be communication break down between both party... But it is really unfair to put all the blame to honda.

Haha true but still alonso almost single handedly can win 2x of not 4 the fakap by his crews laugh.gif doh.gif

I will call him the 2x bad boy champ of F1 like JV in 97 laugh.gif rclxms.gif
Haha woah any chance of mclaren ferrari team like sauber ferrari in the future laugh.gif icon_idea.gif
*
Alonso use crash-gate tactics before

I doubt Ferrari will supply them engine based one how they openly critics Honda, when TR has no such problem (yet).

bit of luck bit of thinking but what comes take it and be rewarded lol

merc is clearly faster but to nick the win under their nose is just funny lol

That's why bottas need to be replaced imo. You need both cars to make most strategic calls.

Nvm, it's good for fans, let Ferrari win then more fans will be happy and red party. This is how you want to attract more people to view as the season progress. Hamilton No. 2 have to put more effort to chase back no.1 spot.
*
True that.

QUOTE(PowerSlide @ Mar 25 2018, 03:24 PM)
bottas make a mistake on saturday but asking him to be replaced is a little far for me as of now

still though in such situation nobody can guess whats gonna happen, someday someone lose out someone capitalize but merc dont think they have much to worry yet as they still way faster than ferrari and the rest

one thing though, cars getting faster but can't overtake..this is getting stupid to me in every season
*
Personally, i think he's not in the 'realistic' mindset when talking about how he going to beat Ham, when what he should be doing is delivering consistently at every races. Thus he giving himself extra pressure which makes him more prone to mistake.

Agree on the overtaking parts. Not only because aerodynamic problem, but also the heat issue.

But a really 'pie (more likely punch) in the face moment' for Ham. Haha

Especially after the joke Ham made on Saturday to Seb. Lucky for him Seb did not fire at him during the podium interview coz he could have done that very easily!

I watched the interview just for that... But didn't happened. Haha

So the fastest Merc got software bug misinterpret Vettel's speed la~~ Got overheating problem when tailgating others la~~
Suddenly so many issues for championship formula team...
*
Overheating seems like the compromise they willing to make, since their car is the fastest, and most of the time will be in front.

Wow, it seems Ferrari engine most powerful this season!
They able to continuously use party mode since Free Practice and dominating the Qualifying! Mercedes has no answer on straight line speed to Ferrari since Melbourne.
*
Actually its make more sense to design towards power rather than agility, like what they did last year... Since there's more power sensitive circuit.
