Are the led lights, leather seats, paddle shift and bigger rims necessary?

Well this really depends on you. The main thing btw a 1.8 and 1.5 is the engine. led lights, leather seats, paddle shift and bigger rims are added features to me.
If you think it could help you build better image and would aid u in ur business and confidence, go ahead with the civic
For me i dont really think the turbo is needed, hence i picked the 1.8 (mainly also can save extra rm200 monthly lah)

Yep looking at the trade off which is about 15k from 1.8 to the 1.5T

IMHO, if you are already forking out more than 100k+ for a car, you wouldn't mind spending extra if it makes you happy. Sure you might not need those extra features but the satisfaction that comes along will make you regret why you didn't take it in the first place.

Also when you hear the turbo sound kicks in...vrrooommmmm, worth all of it.

The turbo sound is not that prominent in this civic. But it does feel more powerful. Yea since already fork out 100k+, should just get the top range and live with a better featured car, even if it means save up for another few months for it to get it. Save your money on the super expensive accessories and have a good tint as well.

Unfortunately car is more of an emotional buy, if I were to go drill down to the figure. I might end up with just Axia 1.0 to save maximum petrol and inflation cost etc etc

That's up to your budget and preference.

I can live without all that.

Compare to what I drive previously, Civic base spec is a huge upgrade for me.
*
What is your previous drive

mine is a 92' Sunny 130Y

the 1.8s for me, I believe is more than enuff
but did only had test drive on the 1.5TCP

well
I had the problem like this
waslooking to a Elantra 1.6MD for 90k but no more stock

test drive the new elantra with no intention to buy a >100K car

then after that... start self reasoning to get a 100k car
then review here and there, settle for a 1.8s Civic

not gonna self reason for the TC/TC-P cause i will
then since its 130K car, can go up a bit get a accord
then top up a bit get hi spec accord, etc...

Yea but 130k is for a top spec Civic while you top up a bit is only for a base spec Accord. For me, I'll compare top spec of each model and see how much is the difference.

As for 1.8 or 1.5 T Civic, this 1 is more to preference. The 20k difference is justifiable if you like the extra stuff that comes with it. If you felt not worth or you felt the extra stuffs does not worth it then no point paying extra.

However from what I see the differences is not big except for the engine. I think somebody mentioned 1.5T is like 2.4k cc? Correct me if I am wrong.

So since Civic is more like a sports sedan car, performance is to be expected. The extra 20k (or take the non premium model which cost 14k more) is for the better performance engine hmm.gif But once you choose to get the non premium model, you will have this dilemma...why not pay for 7k more and get the premium model laugh.gif

EDIT: Extra comparison the other differences between 1.8 vs 1.5 TCP is quite menial. Not very attractive to pay extra 20k for the stuffs below.

- No LED front fog lights
- Non chrome outdoor door handle
- No paddle shift
- Single zone air conditioning
- No auto dim rear view mirror
- Fabric seat

Your upgrade is even more impressive than me. : notworthy.gif

I only used a 2003 Proton that I bought it in 2010.

1st thought - a 90k honda city.

1.5months later - book base spec civic.

Could get the 1.5tc but the topping up will never ends.

What I did is just compared what I drive now (proton) vs the base spec civic. That's how I choose in the end.

Why I did not pick City? Bcoz my wife already owns an Almera.

I upgraded from 2006 Myvi 1.3 to the 1.5 TC-P... initially tried the 1.8 but kinda meh for me, so went for the bigger jump haha! But then again, the LED lamps was what made me love the Civic so... had to pay the RM8k for the headlamps >( the dual zone, GPS, chrome handle are meh.

Guys, Just want to ask this.

Last Week, I lost control of my car after running over a metal/cement debris. My car trye burst in the accident. I changed to spare tyre but was not able to drive my car due to electronic error.

I brought my car to a SC and they helped me to reset and was able to drive the car for few KM and stopped in the middle of the road again. The issue is when i press gas, the car doesn't move

Had to bring in my car to other SC, Today they came with a report saying that Unable to claim insurance for the gearbox since no external damage visible to the gearbox.

Was also told that they will do pressure test to confirm the issue and try to claim the warranty.

Anyone experienced the issue before? Any idea what could be the issue? 1.8 Model.

Hi Guys, any of you encounter this engine check problem with your car.
I have informed honda service center about this and they said got one cable was unplugged underneath the engine and they reset the ecu as well.
Guess what, the problem still continues. Now i have to restart my car around 10 times a day to go my destinations.
Once the engine check indication starts appearing, car start jerking, gear also not shifting properly..

You are probably the first to report this. You’ve been telling lots of problems. What seems to be the cause?

How in the first place you run over metal and cement debris?
