Hi, I'm interested in this Ookyo. But when I read though the comments at Google app store, it's 90% negative, poor customer service, crashing app, draining the 8G data even when using the 4 selected app while vpn is on, etc...
Is it that bad? I really hope its not, cuz the plan appears to suit me quite well. Thanks for your input
*
Quite the opposite actually. The only cons I face is the VPN drains like 5% of battery life every hour.. That's it.

Customer service is automated (meaning there's no customer service). Crashing app depends on your phone, my Xiaomi/Samsung phones never had a problem (of course for China phones you need to set it to not get killed).

My 4 selected apps never drained data from main quota even with heavy usage.

5% drain is high if you're using a new-ish phone. When I'm not actively using the phone there's no noticeable difference between VPN or no VPN (I tested a month with hotlink first). When in use then battery drains a bit faster, but not a big difference honestly. Should still be better than using a telco with congestion issues (which also causes battery drain).

As with everything else to do with phone, test coverage with a prepaid first ya (just get some hotlink somewhere).

There is no 'active date', it's an automatic deduction from your CC of RM30 a month, and you get no call value.
Yoodo is good. If must be Maxis network, hotlink flex gives unlimited calls for RM30 (ookyo gives no calls and you still have to pay RM30). Or Hotlink Red, where your RM30 reload gives you 30 day validity and you can use that credit to make calls.
*
In the above scenario I assumed there's no data plan then, just pure calls/sms of RM30 worth?

I ported out from tune talk to hotlink (Maxis Centre told me compulsory to pay RM30 which will be top up in my new hotlink account after ported in). However, after ported into hotlink, I did not check the credit, I straight away ported to ookyo...
After activation of ookyo, there's no credit at all in my ookyo account..
I thought all credits in hotlink account will be automatically transferred to the new ookyo account?

Yes should be transferred. Mine was. But I used Hotlink for a month first.

I did not have to pay rm30 to port though (I came from Digi). Go bang table there, perhaps you got conned

The con is by Maxis center, not ookyo. So go back that Maxis center and bang kao kao. Never heard before they ask money in the center, porting in should be free!

I have been using ookyo for one month . The previous experience is okay. A few days ago I ordered second number for my family and they delay the sim card delivery for two days . I not sure if they are going go deliver on next Monday ... as it has wasted me two days, I request them to cancel my second number and refund. Let see how they reply later.

Got a message saying Ookyo unlimited calls with RM8 only ends after today, those already subscribed can continue using it... Does it mean, continue using it until end of the current cycle only or can keep using it until we stop it?

Yeah I think its for current cycle only. After that all charges will be based on 15sen/30sec block and 15sen/sms after 3 April. Meaning there won't be any unlimited plan for calls and sms. So better buy in advanced tonight.

So i tried purchasing the unlimited call/sms plan in advance and I got it to extend till 2/05/2019.. But previously my unlimited call/sms plan validity was until 12/4/2019. So I feel Ookyo has makan some of my validity. Have brought it up with the support team and waiting for their action...

What do you guys think??
If I purchase a month plan it should be from 12/4/2019 + 30 days (new plan) right ?

I believe they wanting to get it closer to their Hotlink packages (where unlimited calls is only for quite a bit pricier package, not for the sub RM40 package). Sucks that benefits slowly being removed.
