 ookyo Unlimited Prepaid plan, Social or entertainment ?

hey ookyo user, that day i raise the grace period payment issue (no data) guess what, i found another worst of ookyo. this is like 100x worst than that.

so i was oversea last few days, when back i found i had lost my ookyo sim card. the first thing i do is contact the chatbot & raise issue with airport wifi. then after some time later they reply msg (copy paste sop type). then after few round finally i go to press sim replacement. guess what, they ask for RM5 and ask me to pay before send the card. since i lost my sim card, i have no way to receive the tac code require by any credit card and online transaction. so i have to borrow others card to do the payment. then i have to wait for their slow delivery. right now 3rd day after payment, im still not yet received my sim and i cannot transfer any money and use my credit card online.

REALLY WTF experience. if other telco i would have had go to physical store to slove the sim card issue. right now im stuck at the delivery and i felt helpless. the CS say just wait.

This is what i worry most..the sim is missing..and need to get a new one..imagine the hassle to get the sim delivered..

The action is..get another sim..with just data..log in ookyo..request new sim..then come the disaster..waiting the sim to arrive..could be one day..or one week..or worst is one month..

this is exactly what im going through right now. make sure your new sim data last for few days, in my case 4th day today. and you forgot the most annoying part, you need to pay RM5 delivery fee for your replacement regardless you have how much money in your wallet. since no number so you cannot receive tac code, you need to borrow CC or online transfer from your surrounding.

Guys I just got this sms from maxis:

"You have used 90% of your Free Social Chat quota. Stay lit with a new pass from the Ookyo App."

What does this even mean? Are they saying the unlimited actually have quota??

I just switched handphone so unable to show u guys the actual figure, but i did a lot of download through telegram probably around 20gb something like that. Others like Facebook and YouTube around 10gb each..

Am i using too much of the "unlimited"? 😅

Ookyo give about 500Mb free social chat quota..that covers..FB messenger..wechat etc..unlimited only covers as per subscribe..ex: whatsapp or telegram..

But according to the ookyo FAQ, the unlimited app is literally unlimited as long as it is "valid unlimited app".

Yes..it is unlimited..what i means..Your unlimited app..got like whatsapp..

But..also got FB messenger..not under unlimited apps kan?..

Then your 8GB quota depletes..it will consume another 500Mb of free social quota..

Your whatsapp can use..but FB messenger cannot..FB messenger doest use FB unlimited quota..

Or other social messenger..like wechat..or skype..

No..cannot use for call only..still have to purchase 4 apps..than buy adds onn for calls..

There is no 'active date', it's an automatic deduction from your CC of RM30 a month, and you get no call value.

Yoodo is good. If must be Maxis network, hotlink flex gives unlimited calls for RM30 (ookyo gives no calls and you still have to pay RM30). Or Hotlink Red, where your RM30 reload gives you 30 day validity and you can use that credit to make calls.

Hi, I'm interested in this Ookyo. But when I read though the comments at Google app store, it's 90% negative, poor customer service, crashing app, draining the 8G data even when using the 4 selected app while vpn is on, etc...
Is it that bad? I really hope its not, cuz the plan appears to suit me quite well. Thanks for your input
