1. identify a box - min 3GB RAM.
2. search for a working TWRP for it.

i have less headache with tanix tx92 box. only problem is, it's quite hot.

Quite cumbersome to do it on TV. Better do it on phones. Once saved, it will be effective on TV too. AstroGo only permits one profile.

hope u r successful.

all u need is a mouse, explore, click, click.

no mouse, everything is difficult for boxes.

tanix tx92 uses the popular AML s912 chipset... i m surprised it gets hot.

watching astro go new version via google chrome windows 10 enterprise.
yep, this is one thing great about the new app - it is chrome friendly unlike old version.
u can now work on PC in the office, watch some movie or sports anytime u like. biggrin.gif
and i think use on PC windows does not count towards the 4 devices.

I can't recall if it still does at this time. But no, it's unrooted and doesn't require Magisk Hide..

i am quite sure Q5pro firmware is same as Q10pro, currently 2.1.4.
they are unrooted, no need magisk or superSU app to do anything.
since 1.5 years ago, they can run astrogo, old or new versions.
in fact, u can just go to playstore and install it.
if there is any update, u just go to playstore to update or wait for it to auto update.
this is rare as other boxes need manual download apk to sideload, to update.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Aug 16 2019, 01:48 PM)
current astro go version is v2.192.5/AC/9.2.5/2313a43 dated 8 Aug 2019.
if u cannot get direct from box playstore to update, here it is:
https://apkpure.com/astro-go-watch-tv-shows...com.astro.astro
this one has a bug fixed - video and audio are now sync-ed correctly for live HD channels.
and i seem to see an improved video... improved colors and clarity... perhaps bit rate been raised...
*
talking of which there is a new astrogo apk dated 5 sep 2019:
v2.193.2/AC19.3.2/0163930
get it here if u need:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/astro-malaysi...163930-release/
this new release supposedly allows decoder users to record shows on cloud storage, then access with astro go anywhere.

i already updated on my 3 boxes, all OK.
but bad news for ATV - it still doesn't work - judders on live HD channels like before.
can use v8.2.6 for now but come Oct 1, likely it will be killed off as implied on a message flashed when u launch v8.2.6.

Yeah, I too kept getting a connection timeout from their website. While I can't speak definitively, you can try out ROMs off freaktab.. Here's an example.. Usual disclaimer applies, flash at own risk and yes..You'll have to resetup and install apps all over again.

My latest findings could be amusing.. the reason for new aotg 2.192.5 video playback choppy and not synchronized audio could be due to 2 factors:

1) AndroidTV OS
2) Google Widevine Level 1

Since now GT Mini-A is now banned from Netflix ATV (error NWK-6-404) so I decided why not I downgrade the Google L1 to L3.

So I flashed with custom Alvatech custom normal android 8.1 with force flash full erasure. Then after finished, I installed DRM info. Walla, now the gt mini-A only has L3 google widevine. Then try aotg new one. Very damn nice the HD channels. Smooth like butter. Even with 8mbps connection.

Then I think why not I try back in ATV. Who knows that it might be working since it is now a L3 device. Then I flashed back with the stock Beelink ATV ROM. And guess what? The playback is choppy again, similar to the symptoms that I see on Mibox S/3.

Therefore, to those who plan to buy new android box to enjoy astrogo:

1) Buy Nvidia Shield. You can watch both neflix and new AOTG without any issue. Somebody with Shield already confirmed that it is working fine.
OR
2) Buy Mibox to enjoy netflix HD, and capable budget android box with L3 only for new AOTG
OR
3) Buy smart tv with netflix HD support, and buy android box with L3
OR
4) Buy smart tv/mibox to enjoy netflix HD, and tell yourself to stop watching astro

I have already chose option no 1. Cant wait to get my unit maybe next week or week after. I would like to enjoy both Netflix and new AOTG without the hassle of going to switch hardware here and there.

So to my fellow streamer friends, make a choice. You can't have best of both world at this moment.

Hopefully my findings can help u guys make the right choice.

Adios Amigos.

Is your tv just hd? Not planning to get new 4k hdr/dolby vision tv? biggrin.gif

Becos netflix 4k will need a 4k tv to display.

And almost all 4k tvs come with netflix 4k.

Astrogo is the easy part... we know quite a lot of boxes can do that, probably more in the future.

Dont put your hope so high.. the way I see it is astro now want to limit their app on non certified boxes.. heck, they even later will come out with their own new set top boxes with 4k, dvr, iptv, fixed broadband all in one
