Have used it over weekends almost whole day without issues so far. My Minix U9H also works with Astro Go, but the video has black bars at sides and bottom. When Astro Go starts in the Minix, get almost full screen, when click on video and starts playing, the black bars appear. Tried all settings, no change even with latest app sideloaded.

By the way, I have an Astro subscription at my parents' house which I pay for and using android tv box to get same channels at my house without having to get another subscription.

do u get them for all channels or just some?

the black bars are there for SD shows; HD channels should be full.

this has been there for a long time, incl old versions.
* i do not if there is any diff for astro go between HD (beyond) and non-HD subscriptions.

8.2.6 cannot use anymore. It force user to upgrade.

All channels, HD and SD, have this black bars left, right and bottom on my Minix. It's like the video shrunk to a smaller size. On TX6, HD is full screen, only SD has black bars at left and right, but not bottom.

old v8.2.6 worked fine but was decommissioned today, dead.

How abt try to change the dpi of the tv box? Any1 try before?

My MINIX NEO U9-H prompted me to update newer version of AstroGo but the play store says app not compatible with my device anymore.
Is yours the same? Any issues with AstroGo app?

bolded part... check carefully... sometimes u get black bars only at sides, sometimes both sides and top/bottom, depends on the video...?

my guess is this app cannot or not designed to cater both HD and SD aspect ratio technicalities... i'm not qualified to explain...

For SD, the black bars are always left and right. The aspect ratio is incorrect; video is squashed. The only way round is to use the TV control to change from Full to Wide Zoom. The aspect ratio is corrected but need to change again when watching HD, which is bothersome. So just watch HD channels lah.

Just got my shield today.. tested new aotg.. live hd channels work like a charm.. so please buy shield if you want to enjoy netflix hd@4k and new aotg at the same time..

for all who are still using the 8.2.6, you must install apkpure.. google or youtube if u dont know how.. then from within apkpure app itself, you can update your aotg..

I updated astro go using apkpure app. It finished installation but it closes straight away after i opened the app. I am using hypptvbox anyway. Does it make any difference?

Btw what shield you are referring to? Does it apply to hypptv box user?

You can sideload the apk and then install over the current app. The old and new AstroGo has same package name and same signer, so install over should be no issue.
