If you check sony website. Assuming that old models will be gone, there is no 65" as the same class as zd9 other than OLED. X90 and X94 are 85" and 75". Not sure what sony is thinking.... sigh doh.gif

Yup, Sony really screw up in Malaysia with regards to mid-high end models. There are no good 65" models in this range. It seems that the 2018 models are going to be the same also. The wonderful X9000F seems to be only sold in 85".
Which means if you want 65" you either take the X85 or the Oled.

I think LG's oleds will be cheaper in comparison and there is not much difference between them so they are really value for money.

Sony Electronics Asia Pac HQ is in Singapore. Asia Pac always exclude Japan, China & India (sometimes Korea also) because those markets are big enough to be standalone setups.
In fact most big companies have their Asia Pac HQs in Singapore to look after small markets like SG, MY, VN, PH, ID, TH, etc.

Up to personal preference bro
I was choosing between Pana and x7000 last month. Ended up with x7000

Sony have sold out all ZD9s, I believe all sold off during the anniversary sale. They still have a display set there but they don't want to sell it to me.
The earlier deal is very good since it also came with 5 years warranty.

Z9D is still the best back lit LCD TV that I have seen to date mainly due to the excellent FALD backlighting. Wish I was there to grab the 65" unit at below RM9k. There will be some nice LCD TV coming out this year but the price will be at the level of an OLED.

Reason you went with x7000 over the Panasonic?

If price on par with OLED, I think I'll go for OLED.

You won't get 65" oled for less than 9k. If give 55" oled vs 65" ZD9 for the same price, I definitely go for zd9

went and have a brief look, the MU6100 got a narrow viewing angle. The Panasonic EX600 looks very nice, but not sure about the performance for dark scenes and the likes. X7000 has got wide viewing angle.

Need more time to compare the X7000 vs the EX600

Both also good but i remember the ex600 has active panel or something for better black.... problem is cant tell because the videos they use for demo doesnt show black but vivid colours.

i myself leaning more towards the sony 65" 850e but the price...... blink.gif and the same model only costs SGD 2000 in SG.

Yup, hopefully the X9000F will come to Malaysia in a variety of sizes too but its definitely going to be above RM10k for the 65" model. Unfortunately Samsung screwed up big time with their pricing on QLEDs, otherwise there will be more choices in 2017/2018 with reasonable prices. In other countries, the QLEDs became cheap very fast but in Malaysia its still more expensive than LG's OLEDs which doesn't even make any sense. We simply don't have any good choice of LCD tvs at a reasonable price below Oleds. So one has to either get a budget model like X70E, EX600 or MU6100 or a mediocre low mid-range like X85E, MU7000 or NU8700 for a lot more money.

1. Aesthetic reason, and slimmer compared to Panasonic
2. I don't see much difference as wasn't on the same source video

Based on the details and the warranty of 3 years, I think this is not exactly the X85E, its most likely the commercial variant which has a different model code. Don't know whether the specs are similar to the X85E.
There is a seller at Garage Sale selling these at an even cheaper price.
*
Is commercial variant better than consumer variant?
From where I worked last time in TV product engineering, Consumer visual quality is better than commercial.
Those downgrade bin from consumer we sell to commercial. Not sure if this is the same case.

the argument is, consumer view TV closer to the screen at home and at higher attention. For commercial, some tiny defect wont be easily noticible and people just don't care if they sees it.
