QUOTE(manchurr @ Mar 9 2018, 03:24 PM) yes. few sales agent told me about it. Samsung Premium & QLED series the screen very fragile. new info for me too. i have kids at home always poke on tv, so no fragile one for me. I see. I remember seeing a Samsung tv with a "big black spot" on the screen. The SA told me its because an LG promoter knocked on the tv to prove to a customer that LG screens are superior. IPS screens are quite resilient but VA are not so resilient. But I think this applies to all VA screens and not only Samsung ones.

One day and the set was dead and this is a less than 2 year unit. I'm considering either Sony or Panasonic for the 65" Samsung's standard warranty is 2 years. Under 2 years can still claim warranty. Anyway, that sounds like a power supply issue, which is better than a panel issue coz panel is very expensive to replace if not under warranty.

RM4800 vs RM8000?

Will be worth it at about RM6k+ or 2k difference with X70E. Its better than X70E for sure but definitely not twice as good to warrant the almost doubling of price. Unfortunately, there are no good mid-end tvs at the 6k+ range right now for 65".

Sony KD-65X7000E currently at SenQ and Harvey Norman is about RM4788.
It may drop to RM4500 next month to clear stock.
8500e is at about RM8000 now.
I agree that 8500e is probably worth RM2k more than 7000e but not RM3k more.
So ideally 8500e should be between RM6k to RM6.5k.
That would still put it beyond the reach of many but would be closer to a fair value considering it’s an outgoing model which is sold for less than that in US and Australia.

AUSD 1995 @ RM6000 See https://www.amazon.com/Sony-XBR65X850E-65-I...t/dp/B01N5UZ1RGUSD 1198 @ RM4800 The 2018 model in US is USD1998 @ RM6000 See https://www.amazon.com/Sony-XBR65X850F-65-I...=dp_ob_title_ceSo a fair price would be RM6000.
