Yeah, Harvey Norman IPC Mutiara Damansara also offered that price although the price tag stated RM5.3k.
I had a good look at both the EX600 & X7000e both 65" ones and the Sony looks better to me in terms of black level and colours. To me the older 4K Panasonics seem to have had better colours than the current models. My opinion is based on the demo videos shown only, didn't actually change settings or play my own videos. I was expecting the Pana to be better than the Sony but I was pleasantly surprised by how good the Sony is for its price.
Was planning to check out the 58EX750 but couldn't find it in both HN IPC & Pavilion, the sales guy in Pavilion said its discontinued but I don't trust him because the sales guy at IPC HN said they can order it if I want. This model seems hard to find, so makes it tough to get it at a good price. At RM6k+ for 58", I'm tempted to top-up to a 55" C7T.

Sony have always been selling their products at a premium in Malaysia, and they are notorious for not reducing prices as the products age and its time for the next cycle products. But from what I can see they have improved somewhat these past 2 years but still a long way to go. Anyway, US prices are mostly cheaper than the rest of the world, compare against UK & AU prices and you will learn to bersyukur

I think you can already get a reasonably good 65" UHD tv for RM4.5k. I would recommend the Sony X7000E & Hisense M5010. The downside of these 2 models are that the WCG is only for HDR. For a bit higher around RM5k you can get the Panasonic EX600 which I think has proper WCG but I don't know for sure because specs are sketchy.

For a mid-level 65" UHD, prices are still around RM8k+ which I think is a bit too high, so better to wait a few more months for prices to come down. RM6-7k is a more reasonable price point IMHO.

Based on the details and the warranty of 3 years, I think this is not exactly the X85E, its most likely the commercial variant which has a different model code. Don't know whether the specs are similar to the X85E.
There is a seller at Garage Sale selling these at an even cheaper price.

I see. I remember seeing a Samsung tv with a "big black spot" on the screen. The SA told me its because an LG promoter knocked on the tv to prove to a customer that LG screens are superior.
IPS screens are quite resilient but VA are not so resilient. But I think this applies to all VA screens and not only Samsung ones.

Samsung's standard warranty is 2 years. Under 2 years can still claim warranty.
Anyway, that sounds like a power supply issue, which is better than a panel issue coz panel is very expensive to replace if not under warranty.

From a value perspective, not worth it at that price. Will be worth it at about RM6k+ or 2k difference with X70E. Its better than X70E for sure but definitely not twice as good to warrant the almost doubling of price. Unfortunately, there are no good mid-end tvs at the 6k+ range right now for 65".

That's a good price for this model. Did you get it?

For movies, the X8500E will be a better choice due to the VA panel which has better blacks than LG's IPS panels.

Sony have sold out all ZD9s, I believe all sold off during the anniversary sale. They still have a display set there but they don't want to sell it to me.
The earlier deal is very good since it also came with 5 years warranty.

Viewing distance for 4k is very near. Can sit 4-6ft away also from a 65" tv.

Other than the zd9 the others are not really that cheap. Should try 11.11 sale, there were some very good prices last year.

Yup, Sony really screw up in Malaysia with regards to mid-high end models. There are no good 65" models in this range. It seems that the 2018 models are going to be the same also. The wonderful X9000F seems to be only sold in 85".
Which means if you want 65" you either take the X85 or the Oled.

I think LG's oleds will be cheaper in comparison and there is not much difference between them so they are really value for money.

Sony Electronics Asia Pac HQ is in Singapore. Asia Pac always exclude Japan, China & India (sometimes Korea also) because those markets are big enough to be standalone setups.
In fact most big companies have their Asia Pac HQs in Singapore to look after small markets like SG, MY, VN, PH, ID, TH, etc.
