got bored using dropbar on my 700c folding,
so i swap back to flat riser bar and long arm vbrake. a bit minimalist and looks like normal city bike rather than speedy roadbike.

user posted image

and since its 700c folding bike, i had to cycle with others roadbike. bad news is, i need to double my effort on pedalling to keep up with them since the bike nearly 15kg++ twice the weight of their bike laugh.gif

when it comes to flat, or a bit rolling i can keep up. climbing?hahahha.. need to push more on heavy bike laugh.gif

not that fast lor.. downhill only 46kmh..

besides, after change to flatbar i already gave an extra non-aerodynamic to the wind compare using dropbar.. laugh.gif

What's your chainring and cogs size?

I used to ride a eezz D3, 3 speeds, with the chainring limited to max 42t. 9-11-13T behind.
For me 40t pair with 9-11-13 is the best combination. i can tackle most of the hills with no problem. Slow but light enough to climb.
Tried Mayor hills, pantai hills, langat perez, duta hills etc.

My chainring is 47t, behind 11-13-15. A bit regret not going for 9-13-17 (what they offer at about 100 more). In future maybe I wanna change the chainring to 53t. The seller told me 53t can't use as it touches the folding hinge, but after that I check many other user can use 53t no problem..

11-13-15 has 36% range
9-13-17 has 89% range
11-32 has 190% range.
14-28 has 100% range

If wheel size are same, the gear ratio as follows.
40T chainring, 9t is 40/9 = 4.44
Ditto, 11t is 40/11 = 3.64
42T, 9t is 42/9 = 4.67
42T, 11t is 3.81
47T, 9t is 5.22
47T, 11t is 4.27
53T, 9t is 5.88
53T, 11t is 4.81
52T, 11t is 4.73 (close to 42T, 9t)
52T, 14t is 3.71 (close to 42T, 11t)

52T, 14-28t is about the same as 42T, 11-15t but with 3x wider range.

It's a lot easier and clear when we evaluate the numbers…

Also not all chainring sizes are common. Same for cassette too, hence evaluate the numbers allow you to design your own drive train combo with commonly available components.

Hi guys
I have this Birdy frame collected some time ago. I had wanted to respray and install a fix front fork and create a lightweight folder.
No time to do this, so I’m offering this to anyone interested before I advertise elsewhere.
Price? Swap you for a couple of set of Kojaks?
PM me!

sometimes i add more weight on my dahon speed. 15kg more load on the rack (my son) and riding on dragonbacks. really good to train your legs. laugh.gif

p/s: i do find training with mtb helps strengthen my legs.

Thank you very much for your interest guys. Sifu Etigge will be performing miracles and making this into some sort of bike.

I will have new go fast tyres and a very nice leather handlebar bag which I will show off when I have it.

Happy riding.

Now, I have lots of these tubes to give away...before you get all excited, note the size. 26 inch, presta valve and the valve is very short, like 25mm.

If you can use them, let me know.
