i'm going to install xp on this model.....so...what should i do....how about this recovery....should i burnt or just leave this partitione untouch....i'm sorry if this already discussed.....or anyone can give link for this soulutions....tq

1. burn out the recovery dvd

2. install xp as usual

3. leave the hidden partion untouch when come to select partition to install xp

oooh boy.
this pavillion's build quality isnt to my liking tongue.gif

one of the hinges holding the lcd screen just broke,and now im f*cked.

went to HP to see if anything could be done,and guess what.

1)since the hinge is broken,the warranty is considered void.
2)since the warranty isnt in effect anymore,i have to pay for the repair myself.
3)though it is only the small little hinge(view pic for clarity) they have to change the whole damn lcd!
4)it takes about a week to repair,and will cost somewhere around RM2K!!!

long story cut short,im now living with this as my laptop:

guys,

any1 here using xp in your hp laptop then upgrade to vista? hows da the battery life? same? decrease? increase? mind to explain more?

mine, dv9000 comes with xp but i installed vista when it launched but then, the battery life is damn damn short. it was from 3 hours++ to 1 hour .. to get 1 hour also struggle .. btw, my vista is ori .. got it duriing campus launch last year ...

about the hardware, i din touch anything except the RAM. upgraded from 1Gb to 2Gb .. that is all ..

hurrmmm .. what is the problem?

have u run the battery test to verify the healthy of the battery?

btw,have u install the intel chipset driver for vista?

i'm afraid that when you install XP ..during the installation it wont detect your partition reason being XP installation lack of SATA drivers that is required.

do a google on that to slipstream the SATA driver and dup another copy of XP installer with the drivers.

from the link u gave, it doesnt works for me because i installed the vista for free (from microsoft) not from HP .. then what should i do?

hello..my DV6000 doesn't display the blue LED indicator during connecting to AC adapter.so it cannot charge.already try chaging with another adapter,but still the same.is it problem with motherboard?HP service center open on saturday?

Hi. I just bought a HP Pavilion DV2614tx. Couldn't find a DV2000 club, resolved to check in this thread. I'm thinking of downgrading my OS to XP but HP site doesn't provide the full drivers. Anyone who solved the issues? Please advise..

Hi all frenz and xifu out there... I need ur guys help...Currently i m using DV6126tx...but recently i discover tht my DVD ROM cant work ..And i found out an exclamation mark beside the HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082n under the DVD/CD-ROM drives category in device manager...The error message is "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

I tried to update the firmware to the latest version from HP support website but fail..Becoz the firmware program keep on asking me to log in as administrator in order to proceed firmware upgrade..But indeed, i m logging in as Administrator! Any ideas xifu xifu sekalian?

guyz i just bought a dv6715tx im planning to make a new partition as a backup .... and if i reinstall using the recovery cd to factory state does this delete my new partition .. ?

wow... how did u do tat? u step on it? how come so easily broken?
this is the most important thing of the notebook --> hinge, if this broken, really cost alot. doh.gif
have to becareful on buying notebook for their casing too.
