QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Apr 11 2007, 10:03 AM) yeah, but somehow it always gets screwed up when an online based service is "hacked" QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Apr 11 2007, 10:03 AM) besides, norton products just suck out too much ram...resulting in an overall slower system...hehe... QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Apr 11 2007, 10:03 AM) yes,it is..(google it QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Apr 11 2007, 10:03 AM) hmm...webcam problem??does this mean i can send back to get a replacement unit?? or issit due to software fault...still have yet to try it on my lappie...hehe doubt it's hardware based, since a simple restart sets it back anew.. QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Apr 11 2007, 10:03 AM) go go....call hp to get replacement unit...haha..i'm dying to get replacement unit, since mine already scratched... QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Apr 11 2007, 10:03 AM) you sure or not??? i'm trying to overheat my comp so that my internal parts all fried, do you think that is covered in the warranty?? |

QUOTE(sidewinderz @ Apr 13 2007, 12:34 AM) that is the thing, i installed xp...but when i wish to recover back to vista using the thing, it failed....saying its having some error and ask me to contact hp....besides, i've never been able to enter into the recovery menu...damn....think i'm gonna loose my vista partition soon unless some1 can burn 1 copy for me...mgsrulez?? is it possible to burn a copy for you?i was under the impression that each notebook comes with the OEM version, and is binded to the hardware (or something) if i can burn it to be used on another notebook, does that mean i can burn it for other notebooks too? |

by right it should work, since it is in a separate drive to the vista installation.. |

cant do much about it now..
just wait and see if it'll receive a driver update or something.. for now,we 6205(assuming others dont have this problem) owners are pretty much screwed... Added on April 18, 2007, 5:15 pm QUOTE(hz428 @ Apr 17 2007, 10:32 PM) i dont really use the web cam, but i think for now, that is the only solution. i dont think any anti virus is 100% better than the rest, but Avast(in my case) found a hell of a lot of viruses that norton simply did not. haha , anyone know why avast is better than norton? so i figured, why bother with norton when avast is more effective(so far) and is completely FOC?) QUOTE(keicai @ May 13 2007, 08:10 PM) Anyone tell me wat is the uses of the quickplay thingy??? i feel that is very annoying and useless. But i hear that u can play movie and music with it even without switching on to window??? if ur laptop is off, pressing one of the quickplay buttons will on the laptop,INCLUDING vista, and instantly bring up the quickplay menu.why they on vista at the same time is beyond me,and IMO,the quickplay buttons are annoying... |

QUOTE(bsm @ May 14 2007, 04:08 AM) is kaspersky better than avast?? does it take longer to load n all?? coz for me right now avast seems pretty good n all except for the fact that i mentioned it didnt seem to auto-detect the virus taht was in the thumbdrive mine scans thumbdrives while browsing thru it..so if i browse a folder with a virus in it,it will pop out with a warning..that's the best it does.. but hey.FOC |

i've already backed up my data, and im going to format my 6205 in a few hours/days...
i just want to ask, any 6205 users downgrade to XP experience any problems? drivers or system problems? im still not sure whether it is better to just format the lappie and continue with Vista,or format and install XP. btw, as long as i do not touch the D drive,my Vista installation files would be safe, right? installing XP wont effect it? thanks |

oooh boy.
this pavillion's build quality isnt to my liking one of the hinges holding the lcd screen just broke, and now im f*cked. went to HP to see if anything could be done, and guess what. 1)since the hinge is broken, the warranty is considered void. 2)since the warranty isnt in effect anymore,i have to pay for the repair myself. 3)though it is only the small little hinge(view pic for clarity) they have to change the whole damn lcd! 4)it takes about a week to repair, and will cost somewhere around RM2K!!! long story cut short,im now living with this as my laptop: ![]() ![]() ![]() Added on January 10, 2008, 11:45 amanyone know if lowyat or anywhere else has a shop that can repair just the hinge?
