I use my laptop almost 20hr a day, 5 days a week. Nothings hapened. except the dvd drive KO. which i doubt because of the long operation time.
A stupid question here, Can we do some kind of modding to the lappy to make it capable to accept 4GB of RAM? AFAIK, our laptop model only support up to 2GB rite?

I've use HP for 1year+.. what i found is that heat will build up very fast at the area of the hdd. This happen in just 15mins without proper ventilation(no airflow). but i did not face any stability issue as i usually on my laptop more than 6 hrs a day.

no retail dvd and no recovery dvd givenn by hp. only recovery partition. but you need to make te recovery dvd yourself. you can do whatever you want, but i suggest you make a recovery dvd first before formatting your laptop. Driver for vista ultimate and vista home premium is the same. unless your old pc use vista ultimate 64bit and your current laptop using vista home premium 32bit. that's another story

hey, i`m using dv 6715tx
i think.. it is common that after 6++ months of usage.. the area of hdd (at the lower left hand side) where u rest your alm while typing.. u will sense some heat.. some heat here i mean like 48-50 degrees average...
it is kinda unconvinience to me tho.. anyone else having this kind of problem?
i think it is the design error that lead to this..
does HP acknowledge this problem? can we return this notebook or something?
btw. i dont use laptop cooler for the reason that laptop should be by itself..

Wow, this thread still exist after 1.5 years. I was one of the early user here. Great lappy for me. I shut down few times a week only. Now still going strong after 1.5 years. Heat is there but I've used to it.

QUOTE(blissd @ Jul 14 2008, 09:31 AM) Anyone knows the highest-end spec for the DV6000 range? Thanks... probably the best option is the current DV6700T,but i would suggest you to wait a little while longer as HP just release the new pavillion line up which is better then the XPS 1530 in term of specs and design not sure when they are releasing it at Malaysia,as far as i know other country like Australia and Europe already had in they website,no news at malaysia HP site yet check out the HP-US site,as far as i know the new line up DV5T and DV7T is equip with Nvdia G-force 9600GT 512mb dedicated the price range would be min 5k++ above after conversion from USD This post has been edited by wengjoe: Jul 25 2008, 03:14 PM
