Any DV user can manipulate the factory partition? I am still looking forward for self-customized partition size....

TS, I feel that the spec for all DV series are too lengthy, actually similar spec can be written once then use color code for different proc, hdd space with reference to model number respectively. Do u get what I mean?

Sleeve can be found at AllIT Hypermarket at Lowyat Plaza. Apple resellers have some designer sleeve too.

Sorry to hear about ur story. I had purchased a China brand transparent sticker for my notebook too, but give up in the end coz there is too much air bubble beneath the sticker and I could not get rid of it. Maybe I am not good in handcraft work......it is very ugly with the sticker attached.

In the end I removed the whole sticker and have my RM 25 wasted. Sigh.
I still have the sticker with me. Post up later for reference.

I have added some photos in the 3rd post. Check it out.
Can TS add a link to my 3rd post for photo gallery? Thx

4. HP Pavilion DV6174

Intel Centrino Duo Mobile technology
Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5600 (1.83ghz, 2mb L2 Cache, 667mhz FSB)
Nvidia GeforceGo 7400 with 256mb DDR dedicated Graphic
MS Windows XP Media Center Edition
1024MB DDR2 RAM
120Gb SATA HDD
15.4" BriteView Wxga Wide TFT

This model is exactly the same spec as my 6126TX(my sig)...same Windows MCE too. HP rename those it and resell at cheaper price?

Any new Dv6200 replacement? Vista platform?

can i noe which one is much more better?DV6205 or DV2015?
sorry if i ask a stupid Q here....coz i wanna buy a laptop so i need to noe..thanks in advance
*
Graphic wise, 6205 a clear winner. But one is 15.4 in while 2015 is 14.1 in.
I guess 6205 is a better buy. Otherwise, add RM700 more to get the 6174, juz for a faster proc, but stuck at Windows XP.

I have my recovery disc burnt out.

For HP user, you can access the HP designed hi-res wallpapers under the following directory.

C:\SWSetup\BrandIt\Disk1\Bitmap

possible for you to burn a copy for me??? cause i think i screwed my thing...now i cannot load the hp version of vista..cry.gif help!!!

I dont think my DVDs are the one you need. The default Windows in my DV is Media Center Edition, not Vista. Even though I have Vista, but I am not installing it yet.

Anyway, if you need something informative. I have found something for you.
The following link refer to a Malaysian who is able to extract the HP setting while doing clean install of Windows. It is quite tedious, so do it at your own risk.

The HP notebook formatting guide may be useful for other DV users as well.

The recovery partition is protected by default. I also cant access to it. Do you think you can activate the recovery wizard from Windows? or you dont have the wizard.

Added on April 13, 2007, 12:23 amMy PC recovery wizard is here.

No choice then. Final solution will be HP technical service. See what they can do for you.....

Good luck, mate.

Why not try purchasing online. Just place your order then bank in through Alliance Bank will do. Then, wait for your notebook to be shipped.

Extra RAMs are way better then Flash drive. Better opt for more RAM.

Anyone know where can I get rid of my stock RAM? I plan to buy 2 GB for performance boost in Vista.

If the clockspeed is 1.83 Ghz, then it should be C2D T5600. There is no C2D clocked at 1.86 Ghz.

For the 1.86 Ghz proc, it should be a CD.
