QUOTE(Twinchest @ May 11 2007, 12:11 PM) HP US will relay your order to AsiaPac, then only will process your order. And basically most of their notebook were shipped from Asia to the U.S. So i don't think there would be any problem in that. AC and everything will be converted to match with the asian environment. how about the warranty covering range..? Hp Malaysia will do any services for your laptop from other country..?

Warranty are usually worldwide but limited to certain condition which u can asked HP about it. Why want to deal with U.S based HP when u can easily deal with malaysian one?

anyone know about avast av, as in does it have auto-detect of viruses when u plug in thumb drives etc? coz when i plugged in a thumb drive which had a virus, it didnt auto-detect it. windows autoplay showed the normal options of viewing folder n all and also an option to open the .exe file inside which was a virus. so i just opened the folder, but it didnt detect any viruses straight away till i scanned it. do i have to set some options??

My Avast started blaring warning sirens as soon as I plugged a camera (or well, the cam's memory card) that contained a virus in... I don't think I changed any settings though.

Avast is free too. I initially wanted to use AVG, as that's what I usually use, but I tried to download it from several different sites and I couldn't install it on my Vista Home Premium. It just kept telling me there was something missing in the download/installation file.

How's the sound quality when recording with the dual microphones next to the webcam? I've had people tell me that it's (very very very) soft and unclear (basically impossible to talk) when I'm sitting and talking in front of my laptop (with the mic set at full volume)... but they can understand me clearly when I plug a mic into the jack (so it can't be Skype/Vista and driver compability issues).
Anyone else having a similar experience, or do I have faulty mics? o.O
*does some testing with the sound recorder*

Anyone else having a similar experience, or do I have faulty mics? o.O *does some testing with the sound recorder* It depends on your surrounding as well as the microphone volume in your sound properties. If you set this both properly, you will have no problem talking to people using the built in mic. And the quality is just as same as normal mic, except the built in is a bit soft. Usually when you burn a disc for recovery, it won't take that long. Tell me the error message so that i can detect the real problem. Usually this case is very rare except if your DVD is spoilt or soomething This post has been edited by Twinchest: May 15 2007, 02:07 AM
