Do you know that DV series are capable to connect and watch fully rich videos using HDTV?! So for those who just bought DV6000 Series, welcome on board to the latest rich graphics at your home. *but of course you need HDTV enabled TV box to get such cool graphics*

Have you try connect it to HDTV? The DVs have no HDMI port, you connect through S-video? Any degradation in picture quality?
*
Yup! And the quality is great. If you see carefully on Your S-Video Port, if you have 7 pin connector, And you are running NVIDIA graphic card, Then You will have the picture that you yourself will say ...awwwww!! biggrin.gif But remember, only 7 pin, lesser than that, it's not gonna work. And you can buy the converter either online or in Lowyat.

hi every HP user, i heard that HP recovery CD only can burn 1 times, izzit true..? a special techonology of HP..?
*
There is a few tricks to that thing... BUT first of all, if you wanna burn MORE than 1 , DON'T repartition your D drive until u are satisfied.

IF you decide to use The easy method

Then Do a disc to Disc Copy

Else
Go to c:/windows/smint directory and rename the HPCD to .bak file

End IF

If still go if... I don't know la bros. tongue.gif

it's gonna be as original as u see when u first bought it. Only 2 Partition with one partition reserved (10 to 11 GB) for the recovery datafile. You can later shrink your C drive and create another partition anyway. ^__^

What operating System are u using? If XP then it's easier.. BUT if Vista, it's a little bit tricky cause Vista sometimes hide it somewhere else. Try and do a search on it.

hmm...after doing some spoofing around, the file can only be opened while browsing through ms-dos

now i can open the file, but i cannot rename them...its a system file...i cant even change the attributes....
*
You don't have to open that file.. Just Rename it to hpcd.bak. And try to locate it from within windows cause it's easier. But if dos, can't u use the command Attrib?

What model is this? If you can't play anything with WMP then your WMP has already corrupted. Just re install a new one or upgrade to ver. 11 would do just fine. icon_rolleyes.gif

i'm using 6227...but i already download from microsoft site wmp 11 and i try to reinstall it,but it said dat i cant reinstall or repair coz mine one is the latest version,so the previous version cannot run on it...so u have any idea where can i get the latest version of wmp11 for vista?
*
Before u do that, try and download this :

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Vista_Codec_Package.htm

This would fix the missing and corrupt codecs. But if it doesn't work, then for sure you have problems with Your WMP. Vista do have some issues on this. Try that first and see if it works. hmm.gif

How come the driver page

Doesn't have Geforce Go 7400 Drivers?

The driver page is for Updated driver. If you can't find your driver, it means there is no update for your current graphic sound card. smile.gif And welcome to the DV6 family~! thumbup.gif

Alright. If Vista then Try updating your current driver from HP website. SOme printer has driver issue problem with vista. By getting an updated driver, i'm sure the problem will dissapear. Good luck~! smile.gif

I hav owned my dv6126tx for 5 months dy...Quite love the design but has a quite irritating problem...The right side speaker always produces a kind of sound like "pit pit" which sounds like a farting sound...quite annoying especially listening to music! The weird sound goes off when i mute the speaker...I hav updated the sound driver n BIOS but the problem still persists...Really pissed off...Any ideas, anyone?? Really need to solve this problem desperately....
*
If you encounter the hissing "eeeeee" or "eee...eeeee" sound from DV series, solution to this is by gettiing an updated Bios From HP website. Then follow the instruction and flash it. After everything is done, and u have restarted your pc, go to your BIOS menu and disable the C4 function. This will help eliminating the eeee sound. It's not hardware problem but Power saving feature. smile.gif Hope that helps~!

I get the same problem in win xp too. After deleting, i need to restart the printer again just can disappear. Why huh?
*
If this one,it can be a corrupted driver. It should be ok if u re install it back. Another thing is, You must make sure your printer to USB port are fix properly cause that also can cause the problem where the printer are not able to communicate properly with the USB port.

hi!
i'm planning to buy hp dv6227tx
i'm very satisfied with the specs
however i'm not too keen on using the windows vista...
so i need u guys opinion on it..
should i just use the preinstalled vista or should i install xp instead  rclxub.gif
and how do i install xp on the dv6227tx?  hmm.gif
.. is it possible to order a hp dv6227tx with xp installed instead of vista?
*
Well, for me, it is better to stick to window xp for now until Vista really stable with all the compatibility issue being rectified. Like me, I have winxp MCE but at the same time has the free Upgrade of Windows Vista Premium. I've tried both, and compatibility wise, i would recommend XP still. You can ask the person from HP to let u install XP instead of Vista. Good LUck~!

Yea, the free Upgrade from Microsoft through MOduslink Website. I had to pay 19.90 dollars for it to shipped to my hometown. Kinda happy at first, but after install and use it, not worth it! (at least for now!) But then again, i get 2 original window... brows.gif So i can always use and switch back anytime~! icon_rolleyes.gif

really? it's possible to let them install XP? coz when i asked the shop they said that i have to do it on my own!  shocking.gif :
plus i heard that the notebook wont come along with the recovery cd, instead they put the recovery things in a separate partition?  blink.gif
troublesome~~ what is HP thinking!  shakehead.gif
*
You have to remember something here, IF you buy from a shop, chances to change is slim because they are not the authorised reseller. Better still, just buy it online, and i'm sure you can ask them to install XP instead of Vista. Another one, Their recovery is in their D drive. SO you will have to create your own recovery disc. (officially a one time copy, but Unofficially, you can copy it as much as you want by editing the hpcd.sys file.)
Well, to say it is not good, it depends on individual. For me, since i have an externall 300GB HDD, having HP installing Recovery on D is not something troublesome because somehow it makes the recovery done much faster. But for those who really mind the 11gb space taken by recovery, then it's definitely a troublesome.

*remembering the days when hdd is only 1gb with pentium 2, People would say WAHLAU EH...SO BIG THE SPACE!!! Action some more tongue.gif:P:P:P *

ermm but the shop is hp authorised reseller coz i found the shop on hp website..
don't mind the recovery on the HD but i prefer to keep another copy in a dvd
and i heard from a friend not sure if it's true.. the bios for vista and xp is different? so if i want to use xp do i have to flash the bios too??  rclxub.gif
*
Well, then the only option for you is buying from HP online and ask them for downgrade. Like what happen with Dell. Regarding Bios For Vista and XP. There are no difference about it though. I have the latest Bios that i get from HP for Vista, but i'm running winxp. smile.gif So you shouldn't worry on that. The only option for this new bios is the C4 function where some user complain regarding the eee sound coming from their lappy. Disabling that will help user to combat that problem, thus why the Bios upgrade is really recommended. nod.gif

i m at oversea usually so it is inconvenient for me to pay a visit to HP service center....Can the service center repair the laptop in 1 day??sigh sad.gif  sad.gif
*
Can you give me your model as well as your Bios you are using now? I ask you this because HP has counter this problem and there shouldn't be any problem as long as you already has the latest update. And If you send it to HP, they will just do the same thing or even maybe tells you that there is no problem or whatsoever. Give me those and i'll try and help you out smile.gif

Hangs can happen if you are using NVIDIA go card. NVIDIA hasn't come up with a stable driver for Vista till now. That's why i'm still sticking to XP. biggrin.gif

well, i m using DV6126tx with the latest f.16 BIOS(if i m not mistaken)..
anyway, i hav just found out a solution to the problem....after i switch off the wireless connectivity located in front of the laptop, there is no more weird soound coming out from the right speaker....so weird!!!!
*
Well, that happen to me once. So i can consider your problem is not as serious as others because others would have continuously the eeeee sound. IF it continue and you are not satisfied with it, You can send it to HP for further check ups. If it still happen after that, you can claim and replace your notebook with other model . (you have that right ya because the notebook is not a cheap product~!)
