It’s normal. Congestion and interference issue on 2.4GHz compared to 5Ghz. See here: https://www.howtogeek.com/222249/whats-the-...should-you-use/

hey guys, i have a quick question.
the following is my current setup.

ONU> DIR850L (router) > Synology RT1900AC (x2) act as AP

I wonder should i just take the DIR850L out of the equation?
My concept on Networking is every devices carry out their only one task?
Or at current days the current networking devices is good enough to carry out multiple task at once?

Besides, if i wanna get a good router for UNIFI, which one should i go for ?
high end consumer grade router or the enterprise grade router?
it seems in terms of spec, high end consumer grade router win it all around.

hope all sifu could help me out. thanks ~ and happy new year smile.gif

P:S -> I'm on UNIFI 100MB package

your results are normal.
u will never get 2.4ghz to do full 100mbps with wifi; u may get 60-70% of it if very close to router.
in other words, to get max wifi benefit from what u pay for 100mbps, u not only need a good wifi router, u also need your devices to be able to run on 5ghz.
typically pc's and cheaper n older devices incl handphones and androidboxes do not have dual band.
pc's - u can get one of those dual band adaptors.
5ghz can get you 100-110mbps if <50ft in a typical house, beyond which it will start to drop off.

what's no good about yr setup?
bad wifi? bad everything? how bad?
u need to describe what the problem is, how big is your house, what devices u use, etc. for people to comment usefully.

I have access to Unifi, Maxis and TIME fibre internet.
Just subscribed to Unifi10Mb (black cylindrical TM AP) 2mth ago, but noticed a weird problem.

On unifi 10Mb (on wifi 2.4 & 5Ghz): always seem to be a 3-5secs delay/wait for website to load/response; when using the phones browser/app or laptops browser.

no such issue with wifi/maxis or wifi/time, as almost within 1sec, the webpage will load and appear.

any clues why?

Sometimes I have frequent disconnection from unifi somehow from time to time ( subjective ).
Tried on both setup
1. synology router as main router and secondary synology router as ap
2. Dir 850l paired with synology router as ap.

Devices connected to Wi-Fi = 20
Unifi package = 100mbps

How can I get a stable connection like 99% so I can access my server at home despite I’m away at work or outstation

so... disconnections... and remote access?

frequent disconnects can be caused the router... u can check with the people in the specific router brand thread.

first, u need to find out how the frequent disconnect issue is occur, is it due to device like router/ap or from tm side.

Ur synology got logged? Maybe u can look at that.
And make official complain to tm. Possible can get a rebate if cumulative downtime is few hours in a month.

But make sure the problem is not from ur side first.

TM gave me a sudden shock!

I got some issues in my bill last month for the Upgrade from Unifi Lite to 30mbps with RM10 and I reported the problem. The problem not settled, but I've paid the bill before due date on 16/2.

Now I receive sms I've reached 100% of my credit limit, I checked in Unifi website that the new bill amount is RM800+, but bill not generated yet.

Live chat said cannot see the details and have to wait 7 days from the bill date (16th) for the breakdown. and they can't make any report.

I am not going to pay the stupid RM800+, and will make a report after the bill generated. There is no outstanding amount as I paid last month's bill in full.

Will this RM800+ become outstanding now and my service be suspended?

or it will become outstanding only after the due date on 16/3 (1 month later) and the suspension will not come so soon?

It will only be outstanding after the due date. Wait for the bill to be generated and see why is it so expensive, and argue and fight if it is unfair. Their automated billing system might have generate a wrong bill for you.

Normal - 2.4GHz WiFi is often bottlenecked to 50-60Mbps with 150Mbps wireless radio icon_idea.gif

Use 5GHz n/ac or use an Ethernet connection instead icon_idea.gif

What you said is true I used to have bad congestion and lag. After doing research I find out at 2.4ghz just too many congestions and the ping just to router keep spiking.

To fix this I bought a dlink wireless and router that support 5ghz .

Since then I get consistent max speed and pings

On unifi 50mbps
