your results are normal.
u will never get 2.4ghz to do full 100mbps with wifi; u may get 60-70% of it if very close to router.
in other words, to get max wifi benefit from what u pay for 100mbps, u not only need a good wifi router, u also need your devices to be able to run on 5ghz.
typically pc's and cheaper n older devices incl handphones and androidboxes do not have dual band.
pc's - u can get one of those dual band adaptors.
5ghz can get you 100-110mbps if <50ft in a typical house, beyond which it will start to drop off.
what's no good about yr setup?
bad wifi? bad everything? how bad?
u need to describe what the problem is, how big is your house, what devices u use, etc. for people to comment usefully.

What you said is true I used to have bad congestion and lag. After doing research I find out at 2.4ghz just too many congestions and the ping just to router keep spiking.

To fix this I bought a dlink wireless and router that support 5ghz .

Since then I get consistent max speed and pings

On unifi 50mbps

u need to try it to find out how good it is.

there hv been mixed results, afaik - some good, some crappy.

if u can, borrow a pair from fren or neighbor, try first.

if not, u may be cursing and swearing about having spent the money and got poor results.

one thing for sure - unifitv is MEANT to work with STB-router, not wifi.

the rest is up to u, no guarantee.

But what I know if you use alot of electricity it will interfere with the stability of the line.

Earlier what I have in mind is... connect LAN from unifi router to home plug ... then in another room... home plug to the unifi STB..

What I know is you must use the LAN output from router to the STB.... so instead of using a long LAN cable... I am thinking of using home plug solution to extend my LAN connection ...

I am new to this unifi STB thing .. heck I not yet even get my STB yet... just thinking of solution as my router is located under the stairs area with no TV nearby...

If normal usage is fine homeplug it's better than wireless.

Called in their customer dept. and they mentioned the RM139 30Mbps is only for new user, and they cannot do shit to upgrade my current VIP5 to that package.

Want me to terminate my package and re-subscribe again only can get the package. Really super dumb TM la.

Can I file in MCMC ah if like this?
*
why report to MCMC? They did nothing wrong. They want to bind you to contract that why you need subscribe as a new user but RM139 is cheap last time i am paying RM179 for 30mbps except you make a fuss at their office then it subject to their approval.

Anyone now experiencing super slow connection and frequent DC?

Soooo disappointed in unifi...

seems fine here sometimes it could be router or your wireless issue. try ping your router

I've wondered that myself too.. Probably a month's bill payment or less.. Don't think TM can be more generous than that.. Yeah, I've also got my own personal agent from a couple years back. So if people want number...PM.. whistling.gif  laugh.gif
