am using 100Mbps (RM189 RYE package), setup as follow:

ASUS AC1200G+ as my router on groundfloor
TPLINK WA850RE as range extender on 1st floor
desktop PC on 2nd floor connected to the range extender via TPLINK WN821N wifi receiver

3 users in my home, normal web browsing, no heavy youtuber & i'm the sole person who torrents via BitComet at times & game via PS4 which is connected via LAN on groundfloor

my issue is whenever i'm torrenting & gaming, internet speed will slow down greatly, to the point that google mainpage take seconds to load, youtube mainpage take more than 10 seconds to load, and slow browsing speed to other sites as well. this issue is even more obvious when i'm torrenting.
and i've tried torrenting with only 1 file running, not multiple torrent files. and the D/L speed is only around 1000-2000kb/s, not lighting fast speed.

pls any sifu can enlighten me what's going wrong here  

Try limit the torrent connection.. Try different number and see.. Try not push more than 200.

ths is a myth, the wrong usual suspect.

6 yrs, I never had unifi throttling anything.

what router? this thing happened to me when i was using their stock router. So i go outside and buy my own router and that fix my issue.

Fixed IP now an addon.. Any package will do.. But the fee is something like RM200 it not mistaken..

3 flrs... Extender... U already lost half the speed.. wifi lose more.

Try testing everything with Ethernet. If good, u hv the perennial issue "I hv bad Wi-Fi in my big house with unifi... What do i do?".

i am using asus. Depends on budget also. Asus version is easiest i believe + got lots of support for it.

ya, understands that more than 50% of the speed will be lost when using extender. but the issue is even when I'm only torrenting with 1 file, the speed is too low for others to even browse/youtube. and when i'm online using PS4, the speed will be slow as well, although i'm not playing multiplayer, just sign into PSN/PS4 connected to internet.

whats the best offer that is available right now? unifi's website got different pricing, some comparison website got different packages also. ayam confused
and looks like some of you guys got better prices/packages/speed by terminating/threatening to terminate or something?

Yr questions r normal... Every 2 or 3 days, someone ask same.

Yr case, u must 1st determine if it is bad unifi or bad wifi.

And u will not know until u do speed test with Ethernet. Borrow laptop or some device to test wired torrent. If still bad, u hv case to complain to unifi1. If good, u know u need to deal with wifi.

I'm no expert but from the hundreds of similar cases I read in this section, I will think u need either a super Wi-Fi router or install wired lan. Big house, no shortcuts. It's a tech issue.

Listen to bro AVFAN advice. I will first say that you need a stronger more expensive router that have better transmission power, stop using the TP Link WA850RE, and get a better WiFi receiver.
