Need someone to advice, my old tplink 300Mbps wireless N ADSL2+ Modem router Model:TD-W8961N still can be used as a rounter for unifi lite? if can, how?

cannot.. different protocol, adsl2 vs vdsl2, but u still can use old router as access point

Was very interested with Unifi Lite RM129 package and had already registered with TMPoint last week but this evening got call from TMPoint and they informed me that this package is no longer available in their system.

Told me only the RM149 package is available now. So a bit confused. Are they genuinely already stop this RM129 package or are they merely want me to sign up for the pricier RM149 package. Currently using Streamyx 8Mbps @RM140/month (excluding GST) so this might be the reason. Don't want me to pay less to them but got higher speed.

Told them I'm not interested and want only the RM129 package. Straight away told me that they will check once again and get back to me later but haven't heard from them since then.

the UniFi Lite RM129 is still exist.the no longer available is the promotion tie to the UniFi Lite RM129.so wait a few days, a new promo will be available under UniFi Lite RM129.

Am currently on VIP5 at Rm149 excluding GST.

Supposed to get upgrade to 10mbps but still no news.

Will be moving to a new place. Will it be better to relocate current plan or subscribe to unifi lite at 129?

Can I reuse my STB for unifi lite?

Looking to buy a standard LED Tv and a tvbox or a smart TV.
Do you think 10mbps can support normal streaming on the tvbox (LED Tv) or on youtube/streaming services like netflix on the smart TV?

I m using SmartTV , using Unifi 50mbps (after upgraded from 30mbps)
In term of youtube, it looks fine to me as no lagging when watching video or streaming.
but  when you watching/streaming then your kids play video games then this really affected.  

Haha, no kids, just tot of applying unifi for my parents to stream some shows and for me to surf the web after work..
Considering whether the rm50 is additional and necessary if I am using it just for normal use.

My area just finished pull fibre cable. So if i take unifi lite now, then after few years would like to upgrade to better package. Shouldn’t have those “ no port” issue right?

i intend to change from maxis fiber to Unifi, as the new promo from unifi seems much better than maxis in terms of pricing, speed & tv channels.
my fiber optic cable was concealed at ceiling from outside until my living hall tv area. (i stay landed)

Can i request unifi not to pull another wire/fiber optic cable from the poll outside, and reuse my current cable(s)? They can just replace the modem, router and setup the HyppTV box without touching the concealed cables? i dont want to go through the hassles to pull another cable in and reconceal the wires

Make sure you take one port now by registering before ports are full.

start from which point of your internal fiber cable concealed ?

the day i install, they check the grey box, all full taken up, lucky got 2 spares down the back lane, they pull the drop cable 3 poles to my house

Usually its located at the telephone pole at the back of your house (i assume yours is a terrace house) and the fibre will be connected from the back of your house to the access point inside your house.
Lucky you. Not so for the next person.

btw, how to get the TM wifi? is it include in the RM129 package?

1 grey box serve about 8 house if each taken 1 unifi. btw, it's a double storey link house, they pull from the grey box straight to the BTU. free 50 meter, only use up 9 meter indoor,wasted 41 meters, i think the installer untung from the leftover fibre cable.
