QUOTE(johnnycp @ Sep 4 2017, 11:20 AM) I still prefer using the USB cable anytime. In this way I can maintain my phone battery level and operating temperature. My old car player support wireless mirrorlink and that is horrible, my phone is hot and also battery level dropped too fast just for a 1hour trip. Same here.. Prefer wired.QUOTE(Sitting Duck @ Sep 4 2017, 01:14 PM) I was told that installing a hand brake bypass and using a wifi/bluetooth dongle, we would be able to use the mirroring feature. I saw it in the Honda Civic thread in lowyat forum. Personally, I would not mess with anything related to the car's braking system.. Warranty void or not. Especially the introduction of a bypass device. No thank you.. Was thinking to install the hand brake bypass and get a wifi/bluetooth dongle but I'm not sure installing the hand brake bypass would 1. void any warranty. 2. cause the HU or dashboard to loose and starting to have rattling sound. In dilemma now. My SA told me it's just a place to put your stuff. Tissue box, small toy decoration. Not sure it's true or not. By the way, did anyone install "Stolen Vehicle Recovery" CSE Connex? It's RM2960. Was wondering whether it's needed? or it's too much. There's a yearly fee as well. QUOTE(prasys @ Sep 4 2017, 02:19 PM) http://new.digi.com.my/postpaid/extra-lines Bet you that most aren't familiar with or even heard of the likes of Tasker or IFTTT. A cheap compatible phone coupled with such data plan or one of those all year round line active plans will do the trick nicely. Of course, it won't be as slick as the "professional" service. But given one's skills and config, it's damn near close.RM 10 extra - for data only line , provided if you are a Digi subscriber Instead of paying to some company/china company. I prefer to DIY yourself. You get more control Use Tasker + IFTTT + Connect to AA , then you can have some triggers as well |

I saw it in the Honda Civic thread in lowyat forum. By installing the bypass it will definitely void your HU warranty, though as many here had mentioned before, if u ever need to send in to Honda to claim warranty then u could always plug out those Plug N Play first. Was thinking to install the hand brake bypass and get a wifi/bluetooth dongle but I'm not sure installing the hand brake bypass would 1. void any warranty. 2. cause the HU or dashboard to loose and starting to have rattling sound. In dilemma now. But the greater concern/risk is, if you ever involved in accident and the insurance company somehow found out about this bypass, I'm guessing they can use it as a legal reason to reject our insurance claim as they can accuse us of not paying full attention while driving. What you all think? This post has been edited by tankiasu: Sep 4 2017, 05:47 PM |

QUOTE(andres_hcs @ Sep 5 2017, 11:10 AM) Could be. If CRV can't take advantage of 97 then not worth it. Back to Perak during the long break with massive jam, Honda Sensing was really really helpful not only in highway but also the federal road.Which type your CRV? Premium? I'm considering the one without Sensing don't think I will need them |

Autonomous emergency brake , adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist really nice and more safety when we have to reply urgent whatsapp or msg.Which type your CRV? Premium? Will those mechanical stuffs disrupt the driving experiences? Say if it helps me to brake or kept the distance while I chose not too, will I be able to counter it smoothly?
I'm not sure entirely how this works but if I'm driving on the highway all of a sudden there is a piece of tyre rubber how will it react or if I chose to react myself - will the lane keeping assist stops me? I guess it won't be that silly to disrupt our driving right? I'm also worry about the maintenance of these mechanical stuffs. The sensors are external, touch wood if I hit the front bumper how much does it costs to replace that? Any wise words? |

It won't disrupt your driving, it doesn't force anything on you if you insist on Q cutting, tail-gating etc. No comment on the maintenance cost, I don't bother about it otherwise I will be sticking to my old car.I'm not sure entirely how this works but if I'm driving on the highway all of a sudden there is a piece of tyre rubber how will it react or if I chose to react myself - will the lane keeping assist stops me? It will apply light force to steering turn back to original lane when you changing driving lane if you didn't make a signal.I'm not sure entirely how this works but if I'm driving on the highway all of a sudden there is a piece of tyre rubber how will it react or if I chose to react myself - will the lane keeping assist stops me? By the way, did anyone install "Stolen Vehicle Recovery" CSE Connex? It's RM2960. Was wondering whether it's needed? or it's too much. There's a yearly fee as well. It is the center speaker grill (Center Channel Speaker for Premium Sound System available in some region) embedded with automatic light sensor and GPS receiver. The automatic light sensor work not only with the front headlight (headlight on during night time or shaded area), the center display and the instrument cluster also will be dim even-though the headlight is not being turn on. QUOTE(andres_hcs @ Sep 5 2017, 12:05 PM) Will those mechanical stuffs disrupt the driving experiences? Say if it helps me to brake or kept the distance while I chose not too, will I be able to counter it smoothly? Lane Departure warning, Road Departure Mitigation System and Lane Keeping Assist apply light force to steer you back to your lane. The force is just right, not intrusive at all. Lane Departure Warning usually work with Road Departure Mitigation System (audio and visual warning, steering vibrate, mild intrusive of steering correction) could be stop when you make your signal though. The feature can be turn off anytime to your preference. Lane keeping assist work best with Adaptive Cruise Control (press the "LKAS - Lane Keeping Assist System" button on the steering wheel), it allow constant stay in the lane when the speed reach 70km/h or higher. When you cruising below that speed or the car can't sense any line on the road, LKAS will be in standby mode. Press the LKAS button on the steering wheel again to deactivate. Forward Collision Warning work hand in hand with Collision Mitigation Braking System. If the Forward Collision Warning sense or determines that you are at risk of a collision with a detected vehicle, it warn you with audio and visual alerts. If you didn't react or didn't apply any force to the brake, CMBS will automatically apply brake pressure for you. FCW and CMBS can only detect vehicle, motorcyclist and pedestrian, so it will not react to any road debris. |

Will be receiving a TC-P this week. Just wondering, will the driver be too dependent on Honda Sensing resulting knocking to others when one is driving another vehicle without the technology.

I heard from the SA we need to replace or bypass the HUD with an additional board (cost may be around 500 to 600 from Honda)
For now it is a safety feature it will turn off the HUD while driving so we cant have navigation. I saw some of you posted able to solve this, can share the info for both CarPlay and AA? Will it void the warranty? |
