I’m a previous Civic ketam owner and replaced my steering rack in 2018 once, after that it’s been smooth sailing until earlier this year when I sold the car off for this CR-V RS. IMO every brand has their own issues, and what I’m grateful is Honda Malaysia (and global Honda) owning up to this and at least they’re attempting to help rectify the issue. Just let your SC know during your next service you’re experiencing symptoms and they’ll advise you on next steps.

Personally I’m also feeling the sticky steering on low speeds now, so I’ll bring this up during my next service in February. Hopefully they have the parts then to replace the faulty unit

oh you bought the G6 RS version which is the hybrid.

what is your FC for city and highway

how is the power delivery. you also changed tyres from the stock toyo to Michelin Primacy. how much did it cost and you say ride quality has improved.

do share.

my next service is due very soon.

will tell my SC on the sticky steering feeling

I live in Penang island so most driving are city driving, around 20km/L is my best when I travel from one end of island to the other; but if short distances it’s around 15km/L. If driving a bit more aggressively it’s 13km/L.

Overall very smooth power delivery, and if you control your right foot a little or stuck in traffic jam, it’ll operate in EV mode in complete silence. I believe the biggest pro of the RS is the electric torque because I couldn’t believe how a big hunking SUV can accelerate so quickly and smoothly from stop.

Tyres I traded in the crap factory ones on day one. 1k only to switch to Michelin Primacy SUV+, and the road noise insulation and comfort across bumps are day and night. I also feel very confident in the wet driving at high speeds. I swapped on day one because on my Civic I stayed with factory tyres for quite long and regret it every day I drive the car so I figured it’s not worth it.

Hmm don't recall ever hearing something like that. If it's really bothering you you should bring it up with SC next time you go just to have them check out any loose paneling or something in the headliner that may be causing the noise.

did that. sc unable to determine the cause. we even test with other FC. the same sound appeared when driving with rear windows open. but that was using facelifted version. these model using michelin ps4. so the justification as a normal sound is not acceptable..hehehe

FWIW: My current G6 CR-V RS on Michelin Primacy SUV+ is so silent and grippy on wet conditions, no complaints so far.

The Honda paint is so thin... So fast there's some scratches on the door which I believe it's caused by some object like bag when someone passing through my car...

The scratches like 1-3cm length... One of it I don't think it's repairable...

Its an open secret if u ask any paint shop, mazda included. Even with their premium paint which need to add rm3k extra for thickness.

Best to repaint it with better paint brand at 4th - 5th year when the car come with plenty more scratches

Which fan whine?
Aircon blower fan inside car or fan at coolant and compressor fan in engine bay?

If I full blast the aircon fan, i cant even hear my radio,, the aircon blower is loud

Guys, have any of you use 3rd party cvt fluid for your honda? Instead of the standard honda hcf-2. Thought of using 3rd party one such as castrol, which is more expensive. Wondering will it be better?

Ya, for CVT, just maintain backed original Honda. I also get outside thru my mechanic BUT using original Honda CVT fluid. Old honda over 15 years, cvt still running well. Don't take risk using 3rd party even if it is supposedly more premium. Honda CVT fluid are designed and tested for Honda CVT gearbox. Just make sure change your CVT fluid on schedule, whatever you try dragging oil change schedule, never drag on CVT fluid. Its gearbox cost a bomb.
