My friend keen to buy V or RS specs. SA advised him for the E specs. Better discount and free service …. Anyone also the same?

November already, suggest wait another 2 months, January period where HM will put more rebates. if rajin ask Honda SA, they can combo HM rebates + SA rebates

When you start the car, the Honda dashcam will start in AP mode. You can look at the screen of the dashcam just after switch on car. Note the WIFI SSID (Name) and the Password.

When you access Metadrive App and click on connect DVR, it will go into the WIFI selection page. Choose the WIFI SSID you noted earlier (mine started with Metadrivexxxxxx.). Then enter the password if you have not entered earlier. It should connect to Metadrive. Once connected without Internet (at least on my android, connecting to the dashcam wifi will disconnect internet), exit the WIFI page. Now click on the connect DVR again, it should enter the dashcam screen.

At least my Android experience is this...

I can't remember if the righmost button on dashcam can activate that AP mode or whatever. So if I cannot enter dashcam, I just switch off engine and on it again to reboot the dashcam into that mode.

Have you tried disabling cellular data and Bluetooth on your phone before you connect to the dashcam?

If you urgently need the footage, make sure engine is off and take out the SD card and read it using your computer.

yea. that's my plan for now. with front and rear cams recording to a 32gb card, it will start to overwrite earliest recorded footage after 3 hours 22min.. was thinking of getting a higher capacity card but max supported is only 64gb.

i'll need to go back to the sc someday, thanks anyway.

Haiz Honda sold us a FHD quality dashcam when 3rd party comes with 2K to 4K quality liao and worse the price is almost double that of the 4K dashcam.
Worse even yet, only support up to 64GB when outside already support 256GB to 512GB. Make sense tho...it is HD quality recording size vs 2K-4K file size.

BUT max 64GB is so outdated. Even the tiny 5 years old dashcam of Toyota VIOS (previous gen without dashcam wifi) supported 128GB.

indeed! my wife insists on it for its warranty and clean installation. we had a 3rd-party one on another car with wires dangling, and she doesn't like that.

the silver lining is we got this one for free, part of the discount salesman gave for closing the deal.

I went with Honda dashcam... Just like another forumer said... install and forget it... pay for the peace of mind...

The worst I've paid is the Honda runningboard... it's freaking expensive!

update: my wife's phone can connect to the dashcam. glad i don't have to go back to the sc. i'm wondering if this has something to do with honda connect. since it's my wife's car, honda connect is set up on her phone, so perhaps only her phone can connect to the dashcam? my phone is still showing the same error...

Actually one thing I truly appreciate from Honda original dashcam or even Toyota original is the casing for wire. Honda dashcam comes with the casing for wiring all the way to dashcam. Nice, tidy and not ugly to look at.

What kind of noise?
Road noise?
Wind noise?
Own engine noise?
Other vehicle noise?

Noise from outside normal la, this is sub 200k car,

What car do you drive before this
And what do you expect of noise level from this SUV

What I contribute is
Overall G6 noise level is better than G5
But if your previous car is Santa Fe, Suba XV, X70 or CX5,, then G6 are worse than those,,

When its raining, its even worse,

I have Ativa as my main ride, at low speed town driving, Ativa is better on road noise (i think its because of Ativa using bridgestone) but G6 better on wind noise, G6 road noise is the worse coming from the tire

I tried install visor for all windows hoping to ilimiate the wind noise, but not that significant, at the end remove it, dont really like the design pun.

For engine noise, G6 is better than X70 or sometimes CX5

If you cannot tahan the noise, go see desmond KL Auto, i sound proof all my door on day 1,, not to eliminate / reduce the noise but for my audio

coming from honda city, i also noticed the tyre noise on the crv is more pronounced. city uses 185-width tyres, while the crv uses 235. this means an extra 200mm of tread in total, which is like running five city tyres. is anyone here using michelin primacy suv+? it's pricier than the stock tyres but imo might be a worthwhile upgrade if it's quieter.

Yes it’s night and day difference. I switched on day one. Drove in stock for about an hour and can’t tahan. Primacy SUV+ a lot more comfortable and quieter.
