QUOTE(fazleysyam @ Dec 18 2024, 02:31 PM) nope. never. be it at my old car or current. still using honda's. its just for old car, i buy outside sc QUOTE(Cavino @ Dec 18 2024, 02:37 PM) Ya, for CVT, just maintain backed original Honda. I also get outside thru my mechanic BUT using original Honda CVT fluid. Old honda over 15 years, cvt still running well. Don't take risk using 3rd party even if it is supposedly more premium. Honda CVT fluid are designed and tested for Honda CVT gearbox. Just make sure change your CVT fluid on schedule, whatever you try dragging oil change schedule, never drag on CVT fluid. Its gearbox cost a bomb. Thanks man, guess I will stick to honda cvt for safety.

QUOTE(Old1030 @ Dec 18 2024, 07:23 PM) Anyone getting notification on rack recall yet,? Not yet. Even in HondaTouch under PUD section it says I don't have any vehicle under recall. I'm guessing they're waiting until they have the parts before they send out the notifications, otherwise everyone zerg rush the SCs to get inspection and replacement done when they don't even have the parts

QUOTE(Old1030 @ Dec 18 2024, 07:23 PM) Anyone getting notification on rack recall yet,? mine is in the recall listing. but to me no rush. my sc also suggested for me to do it next year instead of rushing. my rack is still working with no issues. i think i will wait until need to change. at least i can get some feedback on the new rack, whether its improved version or still the same. Seems like there won't be any steering rack replacement. It's just a steering assembly kit, "STRG WORMAINTENANCE", some part replacements. Different to my civic last time which had a replacement.

Different to my civic last time which had a replacement. That makes sense.. Honda global has pointed out that the worm wheel is the culprit, see https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a62570036...ng-rack-recall/QUOTE The worm wheel, which controls steering in the car, may have been produced incorrectly and consequently swell while the vehicle is in use. According to NHTSA, the swelling wheel thins the film of grease between the worm wheel and worm gear, causing friction and increasing steering effort. NHTSA also states that the preload of the worm gear spring was set too high, which results in higher friction and fluctuating torque when steering. The recall documents describe warning signs as an abnormal noise or "sticky" feeling when turning the wheel.

Thanks for the info. The steering does feel smoother now, not that it was bad before but it's better. Sent in at about 8.30am, ready by 3.30pm.

But from my past experience, I bought the coating liquid in spray liquid (it mentioned imported from US) at Mr DIY for rm20 or less, it give similar feedback like when I sent the car to coating shop last time. I paid rm1k for that service. After wash and wipe, I spray that liquid to car body and wipe all. Just coincidence raining time, the water move freely on the body and windscreen This post has been edited by ayamxxx: Jan 13 2025, 12:10 PM
