Yes it’s night and day difference. I switched on day one. Drove in stock for about an hour and can’t tahan. Primacy SUV+ a lot more comfortable and quieter.

What kind of noise?
Road noise?
Wind noise?
Own engine noise?
Other vehicle noise?

Noise from outside normal la, this is sub 200k car,

What car do you drive before this
And what do you expect of noise level from this SUV

What I contribute is
Overall G6 noise level is better than G5
But if your previous car is Santa Fe, Suba XV, X70 or CX5,, then G6 are worse than those,,

When its raining, its even worse,

I have Ativa as my main ride, at low speed town driving, Ativa is better on road noise (i think its because of Ativa using bridgestone) but G6 better on wind noise, G6 road noise is the worse coming from the tire

I tried install visor for all windows hoping to ilimiate the wind noise, but not that significant, at the end remove it, dont really like the design pun.

For engine noise, G6 is better than X70 or sometimes CX5

If you cannot tahan the noise, go see desmond KL Auto, i sound proof all my door on day 1,, not to eliminate / reduce the noise but for my audio

seems like road noise and tyre noise. honda sa told me that's common. just wondering and check with u guys. from civic previously.

Visor does not help in eliminating noise.
Does anyone know how to turn off the audio player completely instead or muting?

Sounds good. Personally, for me I topped up RM1k by trading in the stock tyres for an infinitely better experience, to me that is well worth it.

Good deal on the rebate,, but since almost Dec, might as well wait another month for Year End Deal, and I believe there will be CNY promo as well,

For depreciation value
I think among Honda model, CRV hold its value better than other model,, but not so sure if steering rack news will affect much on value or not

yep our road noise is worse,, really malu sometimes when I ride with my friend

outside noise from other vehicle and engine noise for me is awesome

if you look closely at A pillar, and between door gap there is some evidence of sound proofing done by HM, If i have budget, i will install some at inner fender

Good deal, but maybe can wait a couple more weeks and check with them again, in case they're even more desperate to offload before end of Dec rclxub.gif

Scare die me... My family was shocked as well...

In my experience it’s usually quite good, but I also tend to brake quite far… driving like boomer since it’s a hybrid

For me it happened at TTDI-BandarUtama tunnel. That turning somehow jam while turning...

So the car automatically jam brake for me... Luckily it's 1 sec and release... Maybe my braking point already reaching the sensor threshold that's why it applied for addition 0.x-1sec hard brake...

Luckily it didn't cause accident with the car behind

want to ask if any G5 owners having issues with Steering Rack.

i seem to be having sticky steering when making long corners or u turn

turning the steering from right to left, the steering seems to be sticky when making corrections to keep in the lane

Yes this is the infamous steering rack issue, or at least the early symptoms. After 1–2 months you can expect the krik2 sound, the sticky feel is the warning sign. Luckily Honda Malaysia has issued a product recall so your next service you can get it fixed, but their replacement parts will only start arriving in December, not sure when most service centers will start having proper new parts.

thanks for your prompt reply. though the steering rack issues was only for Civic.

even CRV affected but searching some of the past posts.

hope more owners can give feedback especially those who manage to change during warranty and whether there is any improvement

I’m a previous Civic ketam owner and replaced my steering rack in 2018 once, after that it’s been smooth sailing until earlier this year when I sold the car off for this CR-V RS. IMO every brand has their own issues, and what I’m grateful is Honda Malaysia (and global Honda) owning up to this and at least they’re attempting to help rectify the issue. Just let your SC know during your next service you’re experiencing symptoms and they’ll advise you on next steps.

Personally I’m also feeling the sticky steering on low speeds now, so I’ll bring this up during my next service in February. Hopefully they have the parts then to replace the faulty unit
