wondering if i order few items from oversea thats actually going to exceed RM500. can i avoid it buy splitting them into different shipping packages?

EG: Item A, B, C, D grand total = RM800.
Split it to 2 shipping instead of 1.
Shipment 1 : A + B = RM400
Shipment 2 : C + D = RM400.

however both shipment will be ship out at the same day(or just few day difference) to the same person. will this work? hmm.gif

Camcorder import inquiry to custom dept :- (yay)

Refering to your inquiry on the above matter, the explanations are as follows:
Based on the product name and product description as per attachment, we are of the opinion that the tariff code of the product is ......8525 80 200......which will be not subjected to anay duty/tax.

The duty/tax calculation formula are as below:
CIF Value = Cost + Insurance + Freight

Import duty = CIF x Import duty rate (%)
Sales tax = (CIF + Import duty ) x Sales tax rate (%)
We hope that you are satisfied with our explanation.
Thank you.

Hello guys & gals ,

This is the first time out of many attempts at ordering radio controlled toy parts from Hong Kong , that i get this :

12-Jul-2011 11:11 Item held by custom for inspection.
High - value goods : PPL MIRI

What should I do? After reading around , I should receive a letter yes?

Whats the tax rate for Toys? I believe these go under the category Toys right? laugh.gif

Ordered a Micro Helicopter from HK and a few spare parts .

This morning i woke up all excited as its supposed to arrive today according to my past experiences. To my horror : Held for inspection .

What should I do? A little confused here. sad.gif

Help much appreciated!

EDIT : After i posted this, my local post office called me to go over there and declare the package ,

All and all , Very friendly people, kept telling me there were many heli players that bought parts in HK too! , haha

Paid 34 ringgit, discounted after 50 , i didnt even ask shocking.gif

Another thing is the lady over there is using a macbook air thumbup.gif Drooling while lookin at it whistling.gif

Greetings,

Since is 2011, does Customs still hold our stuff purchased from YesAsia?

Lets say items on shipment doesn't cost more than RM 500 (inclusive shipping fees)

Since purchasing music CD's from YesAsia entitle free international shipping as long total sum exceed $39.90

They are using DPEX Worldwide for free shipping in which deliver to Malaysia and handled by SkyNet Malaysia.

Any experience on this?

Thank you

Jul 22 Retention MY1200 MALAYSIA

I bought some figurines totaling about RM470 including shipping. Is this retention only until customs opens again on Monday or I need to prepare to fork out extra cash?

Thanks! notworthy.gif
