Food and stuffs. Some people (especially aunties) like to look see look see the market. Even no buy also their eyes and minds enjoy the window shopping.

seem very complicated travelling around there, might ditch it if too troublesome though.
none the less, really wish to visit that place. plan on day trip back from main city (kyoto/osaka). hopefully

Hmmm its about 2 hours one way, 4 hours return. And the cost is appx 2.2-2.5k yen one way ohmy.gif pretty costly.

hate the fact need to drag luggage.
hate the fact though they allow u to store luggage, its limited to their opening time (mean no 1st train to tat area, can be solve if there is lockers service tho)
hate the fact u had to return after 3pm to check in (hostel/hotel/ryokan, maybe some mingsu/airbnb can be early)

just my 2cents. wink.gif

though can do midnight stroll on that area, which is nice.
still on planning phase. tongue.gif

i already did day trip to Nikko from Tokyo. laugh.gif
if not due to weekend traffic jam (2-3 hours jam n delay), i might able to visit both Futarasan n Tochigi Temple.
went all the way to Ryuzu Fall, Chuzenji Lake n Kegon fall. also manage to visit Kanmangafuchi Abyss n Rennoji. only visit outside Tochigi n Futarasan due to closing time n head back to Tokyo.

Hi all. My family and I are planning to go Japan this November for 10 days. We will stay in Kyoto around 4 days and rest in Osaka.

KIX > Kyoto (4 days) > Osaka (6 days) > Kobe (day trip) >Nara (day trip).

Should i buy any train pass like Kansai thru pass or JR west pass.

Hope u guys can give me some info about that.

Thanks.

If you're going Shirakawa-Go, would suggest also make a stop at Takayama since its nearby. Its a nice place to go around.

Personally, ShirakawaGo looks amazing with snow. Would recommend winter trip biggrin.gif but spring you'll also be able to see the greens.

I think its reasonable/ average price. Even AA with layover will cost you ard RM2,300 (exclusive baggage, lunch etc).

yeah, AA ain't much cheaper if added in the meals, luggage & seat selection hmm.gif

also from my previous few long distance travelling with AAX (>6 hours flights), I really having hard time getting a good sleep with their narrow chairs, and their meals quality getting worse...
not to mention when you're travelling with kids doh.gif

might as well add in a little bit for a full service airlines for more comfortable travelling

those booked with JAL before, any idea how frequent they have sales/offers?

Yea it's like market pasar style. I would say all on cash terms.
Unless you go big restaurant in the main city areas then mostly can use card.

I did, but mine was to Tokyo from Kul. They don't have Sales often, but even if they do, the price difference is approximately RM200-300 difference per pax. Its not as low as to go half price.

When I bought my tix, it was under JAL but the flight from KL to Tokyo was operated by MAS. So i flew with MAS to Tokyo, and return by JAL flight. Don't be surprised if this happens.
