seems lik lately quite a lot of ppl wanna go ise, never been there before but the shrine there seems mystical  drool.gif

oh and i went tsukiji while im living there so i got nothing to do. well, its fun to watch la IMHO but if it will make u tiring then better dun. the hardest part i think is trying to get there early morning as train doesnt run until 4am and its expensive to take cab in japan
*
I hardly hear anyone mention Ise hmm.gif that's why I thought it's not popular among Malaysians.

Hahahaha if wanna go to the auction, I'd stay nearby. My friend and her husband took 11+ train to Tsukiji and stayed at manga cafe till 2am? Then they went to the auction.

I have stayed in Tokyo for more than 4 years and not once have I been to the auction in Tsukiji. My place is about 2000yen taxi ride away, but just too lazy to get up in the morning. I have guest coming over to my place and I told them if you are interested, please pergi sendiri. smile.gif

not recommended as they r pretty far apart and will b really tiring, not to mention u will be wasting quite a lot of time as well. hakone which month r u planning to go? if its not autumn, i suggest one day trip enough.
*
is autumn time have more places to visit in hakone?

im going during autumn.. was planning to stay anight in hakone and go to Kamakura in the next day. but seem that going to kamakura from hakone is not excalty near and not cheap also.. and hakone hotel is so expensive ( those with hotspring).

Still in delma shall we spend more time and relax in hakone for 2 days 1night trip ( since i will buy the pass and expensive hotel) or rush to kamakura in the next morning sweat.gif

read that alot ppl saying tsukiji market is overprice sushi.
So other than auction and sushi.. what to do in tsukiji?

You're currently working in Tokyo?

Nice! I was casually building up an itinerary for Kansai region (not sure when I'm going though) and noticed Osaka alone may take a week+ to fully explore. Although Osaka is very city & urban, I find there's a lot to do. To Ise - i think nearest is Nagoya. Aaahhhhh I need another Nagoya-ShirakawaGo and this time + Ise!!!

hakone autumn leaves is very pretty and during autumn there will be events at night which can b pretty fun (do check the events calander). usual day it can b quite boring as there's nothing to do at all at night so one day trip is sufficient. and ya the ryokan in hakone is very expensive, they all come wit japanese style dinner.

What?! So far! No wonder its 2,000yen. Only worth it if there's 4 ppl or so and the cost is shared. Otherwise just stay nearby for the night, or do it like my friend - stay in the manga cafe nearby biggrin.gif

For Malaysian, 1 hour of walking is far. smile.gif If you were to cycle, I think it takes about 15-20mins only.

Shopping laugh.gif

Yea you pretty much just go to tsukiji early morning for the auction, walk around the market when it's open to public, eat the sushi, do some shopping and look see outside the market area. Then head to other places in Tokyo for the rest of your day.

Food and stuffs. Some people (especially aunties) like to look see look see the market. Even no buy also their eyes and minds enjoy the window shopping.

oh cause of the lighting for photos, fushimi inari its nicer to take photos when its a bit dark also easier when its less ppl in fushimi inari, while kinkakuji u need sunshine for nice photos

the crowd is troublesome in fushimi inari due to the limited walking space, plus if u go a bit late the atmosphere at fushimi inari can b quite scary at certain part  icon_idea.gif
*
i see
never had a chance to see the crowd of Fushimi inari, went there by 5-6am left by 8am. so not sure if evening view is better compare to morning.
morning city view is nice, morning hike is fun, but kinda let down on the peak. cant see the surrounding that much.

Yay congratz to the new thread! About time rclxms.gif
This is rare! And I'm happy to know there's someone here who is interested in Ise too!!! But for me Ise maybe end of 2018 or do in 2019. Do share your experience there. I can't wait to visit Ise Jingu!
I agree, that's why the auction is never a priority to me. It's more of nice-to-go if I can, but when I think about sacrificing sleep, it's so difficult. Even when we're home daily around 11 or so, taking turns to shower, getting prepared for tomorrow etc, easily end up sleeping past midnight. Next day gotta wake up early again for a long day. Its too taxing on my ol' bones and the idea of missing sleep were not popular with any of my friends laugh.gif
*
on the list yet to plan.
seem very complicated travelling around there, might ditch it if too troublesome though.
none the less, really wish to visit that place. plan on day trip back from main city (kyoto/osaka). hopefully
