i will not further elaborate on your itinerary since others have give their suggestion.

for kamakura, if you like shrines, temples n historical monuments then you will like this place. also you can visit enoshima as it's nearby.
for tobu world square. it's just like miniatures of world famous buildings.
not sure about kusatsu onsen, railway museum & kawagoe as never been before

Hi, I will be traveling to Japan in March next year. Thus, here is the big picture of my itinerary.
This trip, I am more focus balance of city and scenery environment. Mix of both worlds. Any recommendations?

Also when comes to JR Line Pass - I saw it cost RM1k plus and must be purchased in Malaysia right?
Day 1
-Haneda Airport (Landing @ night 9.30pm).
-Hotel @ Shibuya (I am open to other recommendation for cheap yet cheerful accommodation).
-Roam freely around Shibuya surroundings for supper.

Day 2
-Breakfast at Shibuya area. (See See)
-Hachiko Status , Shibuya Crossing, Museum of Yebisu Beer & Garden Place.
-Cat Street, Tsutaya Daikanyama, Shopping areas
-Harujuku – Surrounding (see see)
-Snoopy Museum at Roppongi (Night).

Day 3 – (Saturday)
-Ginza – shopping and see see
-Ikebukuru
-Shinjuku (Metropolitan Building –Night)

Day 4 – (Sunday)
-Trip to Yokohama
-Visit Cup Noodle Museum
-China Town, Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Moto Machi Shopping Street, Lalaport, Red Brick Warehouses
-Yokohama Ramen Museum
-Mount Fuji (TBC)

OR (Another Option) – But traveling going to be time-consuming & costly.
Ibaraki Prefecture
-Fukurade Falls – 2hours from Tokyo
-Oarai Iso Sakis Shirine
-Hitachi Seaside Park

Day 5 – (Monday)
-Disneyland (Whole day?)
-Surrounding of Odaiba / Chiba Prefecture

Day 6
-Ueno District & Asakusa
-Ueno Park, Ueno Izayaka-Machi, Kyu-Iwasaki-tei Garden, Nadeshiko Asakusa Ekimise,
-Asakusa Culture & Toursim Center, Sensoji Shrine.

Day 7
– Mostly tag along the JR Yamato (Line)
-Shinjuku,
-Ikebukuro - Kit Kat Store, Seibu Dept Store.
-Roppongi

Day 8 - Flight is night flight (11pm)
-So thinking to tag around Hadena area.
This is my first time to Japan and hopefully, there are some recommendations.

There are also a few places under my list but I am not sure whether is worth to go.  sweat.gif  unsure.gif

1. Tobu World Square,
2. Kusatsu Onsen
3. Railway Museum
4. Kamakura
5. Kawogoee
*
You mentioned you wanted a balance of both world but you only allocated 1 day for out of main city activity (Ibaraki), is it intentional? If it's me, i will give up on Yokohama and go to Kamakura+Enoshima for a better balance with natural sites. But that's me, bcoz i don't like visiting museums...

It seems pretty standard. For day 5, you can add Shinjuku if you have some free time since it's nearby. Of course, if you plan to shop a lot, adding in Shinjuku will be tough, otherwise, it's pretty standard.

Seems pretty complete and nicely done. Just some suggestions:

1. Day 3
- Ginza - be there around 12noon onwards to experience Pedestrian's Heaven.
- Tokyo Metropolitan Building : check the time before you go. They close around 6 or 7pm if I'm not mistaken.

2. Day 4
- Personally I'll choose either Yokohama or Mt Fuji as Ibaraki area is nice to explore - and suggest to stay overnight there for a 2-days-1-night thing.

3. Day 5
- After Disneyland go Odaiba? It'll take you around 40min-1 hour. But seemed like a long day. Sure you have enough energy to do Odaiba?
- Suggest you do a half-day trip to Odaiba instead as there are 2-3 malls, new Gundam and Fuji broadcast tower worth checking out.

Others
- Not so sure bout Onsen and Railway but I heard Kamakura is beautiful. Didn't manage to cover it in my previous trip but will be going in my next one.
- Kawagoe is just alright. It's very touristy with narrow lanes to walk. Been there once and it's off my list - not planning to go back unless there's major changes to the place.
*
Thank you so much for your comments. Odaiba - maybe I will see if possible to drop. However, is it a must to purchase JR Rail Pass? I have read some were saying will be a waste if travel within Tokyo as is best suited for long distance traveling. Like to Osaka, Kyoto and etc.

Any advice?

Yes, I am thinking to slot in one day and purely focus in out of main city activities. Yokohama would be one of the options.

Thank you for the suggestion of Kamakura+Enoshima as well.. will check in this areas.

No no, you don't the JR rail pass. You're spending most of your time within Tokyo itself.

However you may consider buying this pass: http://www.tokyometro.jp/en/ticket/value/travel/
The Tokyo Metro pass.

There may be people who says no point getting the pass, or it's not convenient etc. But I can tell you - with proper planning, you can save easily 100-200% (or more) on your train ticket for 3 days if you use this wisely.

Reason is that, this pass can only be utilised for Metro subway. But if you plan well through Hyperdia/ Google Maps, you will be able to benefit a lot. How?

For example, you want to get to Akiharaba - and most people only know of Akihabara station (which is through JR Line). However, optionally you can also get through through Metro Subway by stopping at Suehirocho station. As such if you have this pass, just stop at Suehirocho instead of using your PASMO to stop at JR Line's Akihabara.

Planning is needed if you're to use the Metro pass, but I saved more than 100% and was really happy with it biggrin.gif

Just came back from Tokyo.

Very enjoyable trip especially Hakone.

Don't really like Central Tokyo, over crowded.

Morning rush is no joke in Tokyo, literally sardine can on train.

ADD: Japanese girls are pretty.

The shirakawago is going to be difficult unless you can book your bus/tour etc now. They restrict number of people so unless you have those tours with permits its going to be tough. I tried booking the accomodation since August but also full.. lol. But you can still go see during the day. Try it out.

I managed to get a booking for two weeks after that. Eurgh..

hakone:-
just to share

I buy the hakone free pass in malaysia and exchange the ticket at the counter at shinjuku station. I tot that i will get 1st train to hakone but i was wrong because the sales office to exchange the ticket open at 830 which make me have to take another train at 10am..

so moral story if u aiming to take 1st train, get ur ticket change ( real ticket) before travel date.

Relax lar. It is a holiday. Not working.

Just go to the counter and buy the romancer car ticket. The journey is short. Enjoy the scenery.

I am planning to go to Takayama and my tours all depart from there. I booked a morning tour (to see during the day) and also the light up tour (from another company that got permits so i get to see at night). Try reserving as much as you can early on, even your bus/train out of Takayama. Apparently most of the transports day after light up get snapped up quickly. This part of the trip the logistics were a nightmare to prepare. My trip is 2 weeks after yours hehe.
