I have a question. Tried to google it but not really getting the answer. In Kyoto its recommended to use the bus pass but for places like arashiyama i read you have to add on. Does this mean I use bus pass + add on and for add on can I use the Icoca card or I cant use any and have to pay by cash?

Hi guys, I will be travelling there this coming end of Dec.
I will first be around in Tokyo for few days. Day 1-2 : Tokyo Day 3-4 : Nagano Day 5-6 : Kyoto Day 7 : Osaka Day 8 : Kobe As you seen above, I will be travelling outside Tokyo for a week. Some suggested me to get JR pass which I LOL'ed when looking at the price which is RM1K plus. My question is, is it necessary to buy the JR pass in order to get to those places? |

QUOTE(curious_traveller @ Nov 17 2017, 12:47 PM) The kyoto bus pass. Its 500yen but then its unlimited rides within central. https://www.insidekyoto.com/special-kyoto-b...n-subway-passes says to pay extra amount so I am not sure if its cash or i can use the touch and go card. Or entirely I cant use pass and have to pay cash entirely. |

With that pass your method of transport is fixed for train and you can take the shinkansen if I am not wrong which can be quite pricey.I will first be around in Tokyo for few days. Pretty sure it is going to cost much more than the pass.I will first be around in Tokyo for few days. Because the pass is unlimited for central Kyoto only and does not cover to arashiyama. So means I can use the pass and top up whatever amount thats extra if I am heading to arashiyama? |

So means I can use the pass and top up whatever amount thats extra if I am heading to arashiyama? you can still use the bus pass for traveling within the pass covered area in Kyoto and for those non coverage area, you may use your ic card/one way subway ticket to pay. the one day bus pass will be pay off only if you travel at least 3 rides or more. actually there are a few routes to arashiyama.. but for easier access, it's better to take the train |

There r busses until arashiyama so dun worry, u won't need to top up anything. Just Google map the bus route n change accordingly. The only time I use subway in Kyoto is to go fushimi Inari. Rest of the places I just use the unlimited bus pass. Edit: I just Google map check n from Kyoto station bus stop u can take 嵐山本線 bus straight to arashiyama. It's about 20+ stops This post has been edited by chinti: Nov 18 2017, 12:04 PM |

I need advice. I have downloaded Tokyo metro app but not sure about it’s accuracy. I want to go to Disney from Tokyo station but google and Tokyo metro is showing 2 different option. Red line cannot go all the way to Disney?
If my departure station is daimo what is the best route to Disney? |
