Guess I said that coz you seems quite 'hard' on your choice of words sometimes laugh.gif

But anyway yes, in general no doubt a trip will only be enjoyable when it's not rushed. Whether to take the advice of not, it's their choice and surely the realization will hit them over there. Every trip is a lesson to learn hahaha especially the first one.
*
You got to understand why you choose to travel on yourself and not join the tour guide.

You want freedom enjoy holiday or holiday like working schedule. (all fix time pack schedule).

I know girl like to pack their itinerary tight. Because of money per time/place worth or not feeling.

Travelling are cheap now and nearer. You can go back to enjoy anytime.

We have this said, the mountain won't run away. There is always a 2nd chance to hike back. (It is for safety reason) biggrin.gif

I also know of guys who do the same. This is not a "gender biased" sort of thing, it's certain people's character. It could be men or women, but yes, there are certainly people like that.

And secondly... I will say, travelling to Japan is affordable and not exactly cheap. It can be done cheaply, but also same - it may not be enjoyable because you're restraining yourself from spending.
Sorry for offend you.

But I travel alot with girl. I can say, mostly are jam pack the itinerary if give them incharge. And I don't no why they called it holiday when give me the list is everyday is shopping. rclxub.gif

Unless I travel with more mature girl. They know how tired is it. They are richer.

Yes, travel japan can be cheap. Depend what holiday you want.

If you like nature, it is cheap. If you like shopping, it is not cheap.

anybody in Tokyo or Osaka now? Has the leaf started to change colors?

I read lots of great reviews for Disneysea, but since Im going with small kids hence we opt for Disneyland this time.
*
In Tokyo, leaf are still green. Cause the temperature is still not that cold.

But deep in mountain forest, I see about 10-15% of the leaf turn brown and yellow.

You should go Disneyland.

Don't worry, wasn't taking any offense - just wanted to share that something like that could come from a guy or girl too hahaha.

Well... then don't let them be in charge of the itinerary. Object to it, or you can take charge. And besides, if it's too much shopping and doesn't suit some of you - split up and go elsewhere. My definition of holiday: Don't have to be stuck to the hip everyday. It's nice to take time off the group and wander on your own, then meet again for dinner or something. It won't be pleasant if one is tied up to the group and have no freedom to visit the places they want or do the things they're keen on.

However on the contrary! If the members of the group gives no contribution (no research, no opinion, follow majority, doesn't really care etc), then naturally they have no right to complain on the itinerary arranged because they didn't do much to begin with laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif so if you're not really happy with the itinerary, try to talk it out/ compromise. Otherwise, just split up on some days. The girls can do their shopping and the guy(s) can go sight seeing.

It's definitely not "cheap" in Japan. I spent RM1k on snacks and some souvenirs. Imagine that rolleyes.gif
*
I always ask the group people what they want and where they like to go. I don't force them to follow. Of course all kind of place and thing will be long list if ask in this way. From there advise and shorten it.

I don't mind if they can separate go their way at there if like. I m really happy for that. (I don't like shopping with girl) But mostly have problem travel alone. Even make me worry they can come back to hotel or not.

Again, If you like nature, it is cheap. If you like shopping, it is not cheap.

Such a gentleman about it. Well there's WIFI/ 4G so just make sure everyone have their phone and connection with them. Besides, Japan is safe. If they're not home, likelihood is that they're still having fun outside loll.

Sure there'll be a list when you ask what they wanna do, BUT, priorities. If it's something popular that most wanted to do, no harm including in the itinerary.
If it's not doable in the group but the individual would like to pursue, go ahead. If all of you can read Kanji, it's already an advantage there so don't worry too much about splitting up.

And trust me, no matter how much you like nature, you're likely to spend your time indoors away from the heat when it's summer.
*
When you travel alot with girl, you have no choice but have to do and learn.

Pocket WIFI/4G is good for group. But 1 person missing out of range, she/he have to find a free wifi to communicate with us. If outside of the city, good luck. Only police can find them. Mainly the place we go is not safe and not ordinary people go. Even in Japan.

I always carried a 2nd phone which can be roam international. I give all of them the number incase emergency.

I endure the Japan summer before. Trust me, you never experience the break record Japan summer time. It is 42°C. Go out is like sauna. I still will go into the nature and stay away from the city. Much more cooler.

PS4 u brought at Japan are Made in Malaysia.
Sony product that still made in Japan only left Camera product and some very high end audio headset only.

Sony product 90% are no longer Made in Japan
*
It is not make in where or don't take precaution.

Some electrical and electronic are means for international market, which they make it universal voltage 100-220v. Specially travelling device.

Household electrical item are mostly local voltage. Cause mainly static using and not transferring within country. Like TV, fridge, cooker etc.

We still need to check the voltage if want to buy electrical item.

In japan, electrical item sell in Tax free shop are mainly 220V. They aim for the china tourist.

QUOTE(klangfc @ Oct 27 2017, 02:53 AM)
Hi guys i'm going to to Tokyo for the 3rd time and my partner was 1st time.

Whole trip consider 7 full days and going to both disneyland and disneysea plus 1 day tour to Fuji tour (include Lake Kawaguchi Maple Corridor, Oshino Hakkai and Gotemba Premium Outlet).

City Area include Asakusa, Ueno, (Daikanyamacho & Shibuya), (Omote-Sando & Harajuku), Shinjuku, Tsukiji, Ginza, Odaiba and Akihabara.

Was wondering is it too pack for the trip? i already removed Ikebukuroo and also Roppongi because Ikebukuroo was too far and Roppongi basically nothing much to view. Thinking to skip Ginza and add on Tokyo Station.

Another question, should i buy 72 hour pass for first 3 days(Sunday-Tuesday) 3 days (Disneyland cost me 400 Yen 1 way, and fuji tour was start from shinjuku cost me 200 yen 1 way total 2000 yen compare to 1500 yen)  and last day 24 hour pass. Total 3800 yen per person exclude airport transfer and JR transport if require

FYI i'm staying near Jimbocho Station
*
Crazy jam pack.

Gotemba outlet and fuji lake require to overnight stay. Otherwise rush here and there without enjoy.

The outlet can take you almost 1 day if you're means to go shopping. The journey already took you half day for return.

You are absolutely correct. Stuff made are base on the product specification and not where it is made. If a product can only support 110V but the charger does 220V only, then of course there is a problem. Normally the product will have the information of what voltage it supports.

When I was still in Tokyo, I think Panasonic was selling a hair dryer where you can switch between 110V and 220V so you can bring it to most part of the world.. But that is one damn expensive hair dryer.
*
I have 1 panasonic hair dryer 110v/220v for travel for almost 20yrs. Still working fine.

The bad is, sometime I forget to switch back to 220v and when I use it in the 220v country, the heater grow red and the motor sound fast. biggrin.gif I have to quickly stop it and change back before spoil it. sweat.gif

that was a 1 day tour from Klook provided, was hoping to view Fuji since this is the 4th time i went Japan but never saw Fuji Before =P
the tour was around 11-12 hour as below. most of the review was mention too rush on Gotemba Premium Outlets for shopping however i did do some research it was not too cheap to purchase there as well.

8:00am meet up at Shinjuku Prince Hotel counter, 1st floor
8:10am depart from hotel
10:30am arrive at Lake Kawaguchi Maple Corridor (the operator may choose to stop at Fujisan World Heritage Center North Hall instead depending on weather/traffic conditions)
12:00pm arrive at Oshino Hakkai
1:30pm Mocha Experience led by Nihoncha Instructor
3:30pm Gotemba Premium Outlets (120-180 minutes of free time)
7:00pm end of tour at Takashimaya Shinjuku
*
Are you taking the tour? If yes, than the time is not you can control. Just go.

I stay at kawaguchiko. But cloudy day block the Fuji view. Anyway have to went up also and stay a night up there.

View fuji from Hakone. Only clear sky is able to see.

Gotemba is a very big outlet. If you not a shopping kaki, That is ok. Some is cheap. Nike, addidas, asics. 2hr is definitely not enough if you're shopping kaki. Trust me, been to many outlet.

Went to gotemba outlet 2week ago. Arrive late and only have 2hr shop. Good for me, as to restrict the girl from long hr shop. They complain. biggrin.gif

is the item in Gotemba cheaper againts Airport or within Tokyo Area? any shop sell lucky bag/Fukubukuro ?
*
If you been travel alot, you know airport thing is not cheap. No way is cheaper than outside.

Have to explain in this way.

This so called branded thing have 2 kind of quality. The outlet quality and the city quality.

Outlet quality is lower and cheaper to tackle for tourist (specially PRC). Outlet product doesn't sell in the city shop. City branded shop carry latest product and higher quality.

Don't be surprise if the coach bag leather buy from outlet start to peel off 2yrs later. (real experience from family)

But not all shop have such clear procedure. Mainly branded product.

Sorry, I don't no got such shop sell lucky bag/Fukubukuro. There is too many shop in gotemba outlet. Go to the website and check the list shop.

If I were to go to outlet shopping it will definitely for a day. Can just go to Tokyo Station, take a 45 mins bus ride to Kisarazu and basically spend a day there.
*
Depend the outlet size la.

I went to Sendai, Tapio izumi outlet. Not as big as Gotemba. Only spend 3hr there.

Was planning itinerary too for visiting Tokyo early Dec, is Hakone worth a day trip travel from Tokyo?

You strip nake at the front bathroom and place everything in the basket.

The towel is small for wipe water. Not cover. Don't need to cover.

Walk in to 2nd batroom to rinse yourself. Not shower. Than go to the onseen. The towel is for you to wipe the sweet.

Finish onseen than go to bath. Use the towel to wipe your body.

Walk back to 1st batroom to cool, hairdry or makeup.

Put on cloth and walk out.

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Nov 6 2017, 03:26 PM)
Counter clockwise since you will have higher chance to see Mt. Fuji from the lake cruise around afternoon, rather than much later which might have more clouds.

I went during spring time and was staying a night in a ryokan in Gora. So naturally, counter clockwise makes sense for me instead of clockwise.
*
Doesn't matter which way. As long as you take the rope car (cable car).

Take the cable car from lake or from Gora will have a very good view of Fuji when clear sky. Better than from the ground.

Mostly clear sky is in the morning if weather is good.

Another is, check the weather forecast if have the time to adjust when you want to go.
