Set kit like this Bosch can do most of the job.

Mainly for household use.

bigger motor if you are staying in an OLD condo "40+ years" with very hard concrete by now, but >3kg

for new condos and you don't do trenches (korek longkang) in concrete this is light and does the job for finger sized holes (TV bracket sleeve anchors) or wall plugs (shelves, curtain rails) 100% ok, this being a lighter machine is more fun [not so heavy] for light duty purposes.

and if you only drill 10-20 holes maximum for those 6mm wall plugs
even a cheapo rotary hammer <100 bucks (bare unit) also can liao. but must be rotary hammer (not impact drill/hammer drill coz those are toys)

add a 5.5mm (slim #6 wall plug) + 6mm (fat #8 wall plug) SDS+ drill bit say about rm4.50 ea

wow thanks for the quick reply!

One more question actually wondering how to tell if it's brick or concrete, starting to think I might not need a rotary hammer at all doh.gif

Can this be used to drill IBS walls?

My landed house is built with prefab IBS wall, looking for a decent or slightly better than good enough drill for my DIY work.
Can the sifus here recommend me a good price-to-value product?

Cast walls just get a rotary hammer. Buy all these underpowered toy hammer drill only lead to misery.

If you just wanna drill a few holes any RM200 rotary hammer will work, Total or Daewoo.

If you want a lightweight one
Bosch GBH 2-20

for hammer drill the 40v makita lose to this flex 24v.. u say leh biggrin.gif

i think the 40v tools is good but no point to spend top money as i dont need the extra power

using 18v 36v makita, and m18 m12 milwaukee mostly... already covered most of my requirements.
