cheap cordless IW will help after loosening the nut / bolt. no need to use all human power taking out nut / bolt..  biggrin.gif  especially the long ones..

the expensive 1 like milwaukee / stanley xr are one of the most powerful cordless IW.

there is an updated version from BOSCH which has 1,050nm of tightening torque (breakaway torque is 1,700nm)

TYRE NUTS vs IW
Many reviews on shopee claim even 600 bucks range (GDS18V EC with 300NM!!) IW cannot open airgunned nuts..
so seeing those I figured use my cheater pipe instead is still easier.
Well I did successfully opened the lugs nuts before using the GDS18V EC ABR, albeit rather slowly. I think this model will work on airgunned nuts but you'd probably not enjoy the continuous impact "sensation" due to the slightly longer impact duration needed to open all four wheels.

Did the price of power tools went up a lot over the pass year?
The Bosch GBH18-L1 solo set is now averaging 470-500 compared to less than 400 last year.
Or am I looking at the wrong place?

Hi boss
Solo is solo 🍔
Set is set 🍔🥤🍟

if you mean the set w/ battery and charger it depends because the price vary according to batt Ah and charger (slow/medium/fast) and also box (briefcase or fisherman box).

but for solo tool yet it seems to be at least 460 online nowadays. previously 350-400 solo tool GBH180LI brushed.

on lazada cheaper
440 for brushless https://s.lazada.com.my/s.dS9v8
405 for brushed https://s.lazada.com.my/s.dSQj5
full set with normal 4AH about 790-800.

last time buy piecemeal i got brushless + 4AH procore + fast charger 1860 for 777

It is all about how much torque is set when nuts are tightened. Air wrench also has adjustable one. Many workshop just tightened the nuts way beyond spec and mostly just use those not adjustable one. So, max torque based on model biggrin.gif

Over torque can warp rotor or damage stud.

My bad, i was referring to solo unit and it came out as set instead of unit
The price you got for the combi is really good.

I notice they are pushing the GBH180 with GSR/GSB180 and dual battery+charger for around 1150 now
Seems like a good deal if one wants the GSR/GSB as well

The rotary GBH180 pretty solid machine, dug out a few trenches and drilled few hundred holes already. Pretty good.

The GSB..well I scuffed the keyless chuck cos my screwdriver bit stuck inside the chuck =/ plastic chuck problems I guess.

Any suggestion on wall scanner? To scan for wires, pipes, etc
Once kena twice shy now scared.
Kena one the plumber run the pipe horizontally across a wall.
The repair can probably fund a decent scanner

Normally tracing electromagnetic (electricity) and metal but not water in plastic pipe. The one that can detect PVC pipe is not cheap.

Usually you can guess how the pipe is run inside the wall since it runs in straight line and turn at 90 degree angle.

To place on a hook or protruding bar, screw or nail for safety esp drilling at high places. Also can be use as a grip after winding the cord.

Hi guys,

Appreciate your advice.

I am browsing for cordless power tools ( drill, grinder, sander) for DIY home renovation. Is recommended Milwaukee by friends. Use it for some minor works and get really impressed by the solid build compared to bosch/dewalt/makita/Black decker & the battery interchangeability.

Milwaukee IS Pricey.
I found a new brand TOTAL, that looks like milwaukee ripoff.
From shopee/lazada lol.

Anyone used TOTAL brand? Are they good?
Or any other recommended brand?

Don't mind paying a bit more for premium performance & reliability and the battery ecosystem (same battery/same charger/etc)

You are located in MY?
Here in MY Bosch stuff is cheaper than Makita, because Made-in-MY. The solo tool is actually quite affordable but you need to invest in that battery ecosystem (i.e. at least one battery + charger).

Cordless tool basically only as good as the battery backing it.
Battery interchangeability? I think its is a non issue. rclxub.gif
For Bosch 18V battery it works for all Bosch 18V tool.
Same for Makita I think.. 18V stuff should work fine with 18V battery from the same brand.

Hikoki, Metabo also good stuff, but for one off project kinda overkill.
Bosch got few grade of tool..the blue line is split into Heavy Duty line will stand up to abuse better than the normal blue stuff or green homeowner grade. If wanna collect.. Amazon JP got pink, red, purple makita which I REGRET going Bosch because Bosch 18V only come in that standard blue colour laugh.gif Had i known about that Pink/Red makitas before getting on the Bosch 18V ecosystem i might have went that side sad.gif

Drill driver GSB or GSR180 works great as screwdriver. I dont recommend the 12V line coz two voltages 12V n 18V need more investment in battery n charger but there are some cute 12V tools like the mini grinder that lucifah here used for tight spots and it works great in places where using corded 230V or 18V full size tool won't fit.

Drill concrete cordless basically GBH180Li rotohammer work great for 6mm 10mm concrete holes..if you do serious wall delete then get a corded demo hammer instead for demolishing.

Price-Performance wise corded grinder below RM110 with some free discs cannot be beat lah. My dad ex co is a metal foundry they use the Bosch bigger grinders with 7in disc heavily everyday..so I bought the standard GWS060 and very happy with it, grinder need to use with 3000% respect for the tool. Cordless grinder seem expensive unless you have a real use for the cordless function and this eats batteries.

Sander.. for painting? The palm sander corded keeps on going & pretty cheap about RM140..if cordless you should be able to squeeze an hour out of the 4AH for GEX18V-125. I used the older model of the GEX270AE to sand the shit out of my 20 year old wall paint to bare cement in order to be able to repaint the wall as the old paint just ripped off when I try to paint over it, gunked the roller. Created desert storm clouds of dust, burnt thru heaps of coarse sandpaper, mamak stall ppl look at me funny when i dapao lunch all dusted like a madwoman sad.gif

Hi all, I planning to start home woodworking DIY and planning to buy tools, I come across two brand for circular saw and sander - Stanley or Makita

Stanley
https://shopee.com.my/product/336820079/407...82-1630813039.9

Makita
https://shopee.com.my/product/80183826/7716...82-1630813178.9

I see the Stanley saw is 1600w Vs Makita 1050w, is there much different? Which one would you recommend? I saw online seems like Stanley is mostly hated in US because of quality and after sales service

Thanks
