Maybank no such add card ? Only fresh application ? Not likely it will separate credit limit for fresh application right ?

Existing card type: ?
Apply for:?

If apply for higher income requirement CC, or if apply for another bank's CC (eg Maybank CC users to get Maybank Islamic CC), you can't add card.

Annual income requirement
M2 Gold RM30000
M2 Platinum RM60000
Barcelona VS RM48000

You can't add M2 Platinum.

Print out and fill up the application form. Email to Card Centre with your I/C and Income Document (eg Form BE/B 2023 >RM60000). Don't apply at M2U.

Asking for friend who's not in this forum:

He recently got approved for Amex Green Charge Card from Maybank. This was approved this month on pre-approved basis without submitting income document since his housing loan with Maybank was approved within the last two years.

At the same time, he's holding Maybank's Ikhwan Gold Card which was approved in 2017 or 2018 when he just graduated with very small credit limit of RM6,000. Question: How does he convert this Ikhwan Gold card to a better and higher Maybank credit card (and revise its credit limit) since his salary has moved significantly?

Is there a way to do this without submitting income documents since the Amex Green Charge Card just got approved?

RHB has sent him a card without submitting income documents with credit limit of RM 20k but he didn't activate it when he submitted his income documents to compare which bank offered the best rates last year when he bought his house.

If your friend need a revision of CL then income document is needed. No such thing as card conversion as each new card is treated as a new card application. If the new card has a higher requirement whatever doc that was used in 2017/2018 then it'll trigger the income doc submission. Note that even equivalent card can possibly trigger the income doc.

The RHB cc is a red flag ya. Not activating the card doesn't mean the card is not there in the financial system.
It is a huge penalty for the bank to use customer's personal documents without explicit permission for unsolicited financial product. Even more severe if the FI product was actually created. Advise your friend to take firm action without hesitance on this subject.

want to ask, say my annual salary is more than RM 200K p.a. , what is the maximum credit limit according to BNM requirement that I am entitled to have for any credit card?

Hi, i am your future self, coming back to answer my own question after applying for a few cards.

Basically you will get either RM 50K (mainly foreign banks) or 40K (local banks), as a gauge looks like the x2 rules still apply even though you are earning more than the RM 36K p.a. .

I... earn less than 200k but get more than 50k limit on some banks. Its not merely salary that they look at.

Possible. What i am stating is just general observation and what the bank officer told me (actually they also not sure) but he told me min for the card that i was applying should be rm 50k.

The banks with lower credit limit possible because i dont bank with them and do not have any relationship prior, i just want their card cause damn easy to get points!

I have had some missed payment on my housing loan in the past. Which may also explain the low credit limit.

With all those criteria, IMO not very useful. My salary is like 40% lower than that but I'm getting CL 98k from UOB, 60k from SCB (and still 15k at my first bank Maybank). My 'cycling' banks (apply, cancel after no more benefit) give 30-100k CL. Its quite 'personalized' based on employment, commitment, and other factors that only each bank will know. What we can see as consumer is just general trend that some bank very kiamsiap (maybank/public bank) and some banks more generous (formerly citi was the 'best' at this).

hi, I am trying to get my finances back in order and want to clear off the credit rolling. Based on the terms and condition below, if I do early settlement, I will be penalized.

So what if I overpay my credit card, and the mthly installment auto-debit from the overpaid balances, will it be considered early settlement? (This is the PBB BT 0% but I had paid the upfront fee)

Early Settlement Penalty of RM100 will be charged if the Cardmember terminates or discontinues
the programme by making full payment for the Approved Balance or such outstanding thereof
prior to the expiry date of the credit scheme duration (PB Credit Cards only).

I have no answer for your question but... why would you want to overpay (except if via 0% balance transfer and the like)? If your BT was 20k in the first place, and you have the 20k available to pay it off, why not leave it in some savings account which earns interest until you have to pay back?

i have the issue of if there is money lying in saving it might be spent off and then realizing not enough to settle off monthly repayment later.

Yes most of them are 0% interest but they all have upfront interest which the interest has already been paid.

If you clear off everything then it’s most likely considered as early settlement. Why not just leave some balance behind so that you can clear in the final installment? Then it will not be considered as early settlement. I supposed that’s how it works.

In my opinion, such monies must not be left in the same accounts that you spend from.

Nowadays with ewallet, I think generally you can leave the spending amount in TnG (accepted widely in Klang Valley/Penang at least), and leave the monies which are dedicated for repayment in your high-interest savings account (Rize for example). That one cannot be touched except for repayment.

This way helps with discipline. It is essentially the envelope budgeting method for modern age. Savings account are almost free anyway.
