Hi guys, my situation here is i have (tertunggak) PTPTN loan about 3.5k. I've been paying good for 1 year now and after i got promoted i already auto debit 100 more per month than i should pay.
My annual income is 48k.
If i apply credit card, will it be rejected? Since got tertunggak.

Have you paid the full outstanding amount?

In my case, previously I had some outstanding as well. I cleared all outstanding amount and paid the monthly payment accordingly. After more than 6 months, I applied for CIMB cc and it was approved. From there, I applied for Maybank and got it approved as well.

Before applying for the cc, I checked my CCRIS report to ensure that I no longer had any outstanding / overdue payment with any financial institution.

Regardless, a clean record still doesn't guarantee that you application will be approved.

I believe you should give it a try.

No need la. I have cleared tertunggak and pay on monthly basis. Cards all started to approve since July. Cleared my tertunggak in October last year. I still have 50k to clear off all outstanding.

Tertunggak is due to non-prompt payment earlier. Last time I paid one lump sum and stopped paying for a while. blush.gif Now no more as I pay consistently every month. My mortgage loan and 3 banks approved me since July.

I checked my CCRIS in April already cleared.

You said you have tertunggak about 3.5k right? Have you paid the tertunggak?

In my earlier reply, what I meant by outstanding is your tertunggak balance and not your full loan amount.

AFAIK, the last time I asked PTPTN (last year), it seems that for example, in your case, if you have around 3.5k outstanding and you've started paying for a few months now, the payment you made will be used to pay off/offset the tertunggak/outstanding balance, not your current monthly payment. This also means your CCRIS report will still show you have late/outstanding payment. It will only start to pay off your monthly repayment once there's no more outstanding and that's when your CCRIS report will be better.

You have two choice:

1. If you can afford to pay the outstanding/tertunggak then pay it off and start paying according to the repayment schedule from the following month.

2. If you can't afford to pay whatever outstanding/tertunggak balance you have, then you are advised to walk in to the nearest PTPTN office in order to reschedule your full loan amount. There are possibilities that they'd be able to reschedule your loan without paying any upfront payment to offset your outstanding but the monthly repayment will be higher.

Tertunggak not yet finished. I checked already, tertunggak only decrease when u pay extra from you should monthly.

I've been thinking about choice 2 also. Since if i dont clear outstanding, my CCRIS report will stay bad even if i pay monthly good. But is restructuring make my record bad also? I can afford to restructure to pay double the monthly amount. But if bad i dont want la better wait bonus then settle.

dont think so, it's just a post-transaction notes, has no valuable info to trigger a transaction. furthermore, there is SMS notification or OTP to your mobile.
