No need la. I have cleared tertunggak and pay on monthly basis. Cards all started to approve since July. Cleared my tertunggak in October last year. I still have 50k to clear off all outstanding.

Tertunggak is due to non-prompt payment earlier. Last time I paid one lump sum and stopped paying for a while.  blush.gif Now no more as I pay consistently every month. My mortgage loan and 3 banks approved me since July.

I checked my CCRIS in April already cleared.

i have 1 retail transaction and it voided on the same day..

the transaction will post and reflect in refund or won't post at all?

thanks in advance  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

Depend on how the merchant void the txn, normally retail shop won’t do settlement so fast, no settlement b4 refund, then it won’t show in ur statement.. if settlement d, then refund, mean will post n wait for refund posting too..
But, normally those shopping mall will only do settlement at night..

after this may have to consider to cancel few cards which are less used or with less benefits.

anyway, Rm25 is lesser than the previous RM50 tax

And

hope bank will help us, by crediting RM25 into our card smile.gif
AFAIK, M2Cards is considered as one card (subject to only one service tax) when it comes to government service tax for credit cards

How about PBB Quantum Master & Visa then? hmm.gif

50% of not is NOT AN ISSUE.

Bear in mind.
This tax is IMPLEMENTED ONLY in 2009 by JIBBY.
There is NO such TAX exist before this brilliant idea of taxing each card RM50 by JIBBY.

So why on earth PH gov as they claimed takes care of the rakyat wanted to re-implement this stupid tax created by Jibby?? vmad.gif
Not to mention, LGE he himself oppose the implementation of this tax back then in 2009

if cancel the credit card application when its working in progress, do i need to wait 6 month to apply from same bank again?

anyone got experience with this situation? Thanks.

The bank is actually standard chartered.
*
Can’t really give absolute answer, but, no harm trying as ur application earlier was not rejected by bank b4, so, the grace period shouldn’t apply to u..

any minimum period to cancel the credit card upon activation?
*
No, u can cancel anytime u want.. it is not like those CASA that will hold ur minimum balance if u close account within certain months.. so, no minimum period to cancel any credit card in Malaysia.

Apparently based on few experiences shared by users in this section, yes you will need to pay. Once charged, you will need to pay.
*
But, as per Custom Guidance on Cancellation of Cards after Renewal, it mentioned that no need to pay SST. Extracted below:

28. In the case of a cancelled and unused card after the renewal date, service tax is not required to be charged and accounted for if the service tax has not been paid. If service tax has been paid after the renewal date, the card issuer is entitled to deduct the service tax paid from the tax return provided that the approval of the tax deduction has been approved.

Does anyone know if any bank is paying SST on behalf of their new cardholders?

For myself, I have experienced from UOB. Despite I'm not their new customer because I am holding YOLO card but they still paid RM 25 on my behalf when my Preferred Plat was approved.

Feel like applying PBB again but knowing them I don't think they will do it. laugh.gif

Note: I am well aware SST is something which cannot be waived, I'm not asking information regarding waiver.

New cardholder sign up bonus is more than enough to cover RM25 ST

The wallet size is only RM10k, maybe too small and too risky for VAT/GST refund. (if BP is allowed)

How's the procedure of Sg tax refund? Directly refund (deduct from your amount paid) by merchant?

Just my personal experience, while doing VAT refund in Europe airport, I give them BigPay card, but it shows invalid (from CC transaction device). Just a small amount. Change another CC and managed to get through.

By the way, anyone tested VAT/GST refund into Debit Card?

Anyone applied a new credit card after SST has been implemented?

Last month, my wife signed up for UOB credit cards from booth at a shopping mall, and she got a small gift for it. She didn't really need the card, she was just being nice. One week later, she received 2 cards from UOB by mail, and since she wasn't planning to use it, I told her to ignore the cards and not activate the cards.

Fast forward yesterday, she received a mail from UOB. Turns out it's the credit card statement for the cards she did not activate. Both cards were charged RM25 SST for a total of RM50.

Not sure if this is normal. I thought SST is charged every year? And shouldn't I be charged only if the card is activated?
